✨ Success Story Spotlight: Caliyah Goodwin ✨

Before joining Skilled US, Caliyah Goodwin faced a challenge that many aspiring healthcare professionals know all too well—finding a way to afford CNA training while balancing work and everyday bills.

Through Skilled US, Caliyah was able to enroll in a CNA class close to home and received support that helped remove barriers to success, including transportation assistance when needed.

Beyond earning her certification, Caliyah gained something even more valuable: confidence, lifelong friendships, and a renewed belief in her future.

"I had a great experience in class, met amazing women I'm still friends with today, and successfully became a CNA."

The experience taught her patience, appreciation, and an important lesson—that it's never too late to pursue your goals. Today, Caliyah is preparing to apply to hospitals and plans to continue her education by attending nursing school to become an LPN.

Her advice for others considering Skilled US?

"Take the opportunity seriously, stay focused, and get it done. It's a great program for anyone needing a little extra support while building a better future."

Last Friday, we had the honor of attending the Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy Senior Scholarship Breakfast, where students were recognized for their hard work, achievements, scholarships, and earned cords as they prepare for graduation. 🎓

We are especially proud to celebrate the 10 seniors we had the privilege of working with through our partnership with the Charles L. Shor Foundation. Through this opportunity, students completed construction training and participated in OSHA 30 training led by Charles Wilson Engage CPI, with support from the Cincinnati ToolBank , helping prepare them for future careers in the skilled trades and construction industry.

Seeing these students recognized for their dedication and accomplishments was truly inspiring. Congratulations to all of the seniors on this incredible milestone — your futures are bright, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for each of you!

This week, we’re proud to celebrate Trevor Vesrepmi and Shawn Schleicher for successfully completing their CDL-A training and taking the next step toward a new career path filled with opportunity, stability, and growth.

Throughout the program, both Trevor and Shawn stayed focused on their goals and the bigger picture — building a stronger future for themselves and their families.

💊 Student Success Spotlight: Keani Hill

For Keani Hill, finding a career where she felt confident, appreciated, and able to truly help others was her biggest goal.

Before Skilled US, that path wasn’t always clear.

But everything began to shift during her journey through the Pharmacy Technician program.

One moment that stood out most? The consistent support.
“Having someone check in on you weekly showed me that they truly care and want you to succeed,” Keani shared. “At the end of the tunnel, there’s always light.”

Through the program, Keani didn’t just gain knowledge — she built a mindset for success. One lesson that stuck with her:
“If you’re not 10 minutes early, you’re late… you have to want it more than you need it.”

Since completing the program, her confidence has grown tremendously. She’s learned to stay focused, push through challenges, and trust that the hard work will pay off.

Her advice?
“Go for it. No matter the support or discouragement, you can do anything you put your mind to. Don’t second guess yourself.”

✨ Student Success Spotlight: Rishka Pizarro-Reid!

For Rishka Pizarro-Reid, stepping into the classroom came with uncertainty. Naturally anxious, she wasn’t sure what to expect — or if she would feel comfortable.

But that quickly changed 💙

With hands-on, informative instruction and a supportive environment, she found herself not only learning, but gaining confidence with every session. The instructor created a space that was encouraging, engaging, and truly set students up for success.

Even before day one, Fiona’s workshops made a lasting impact ✨

“She helped build my confidence before entering the classroom setting,” Rishka shared.

What stood out most was the sense of connection — classmates quickly became familiar faces, creating a welcoming environment that made learning even more meaningful.

Already certified in phlebotomy, Rishka is now inspired to keep going — exploring opportunities as a CNA or pharmacy technician and continuing her journey in healthcare 🩺

“I am very glad that I did… this experience has had a meaningful and positive impact on my journey.”
