Our Medical Assistant students are officially getting hands-on! On Wednesday, they took an exciting step in their training by practicing phlebotomy and learning how to draw blood. 🩸👏🏽

🎓✨ Celebrating our YouthBuild Graduates!

Tuesday night, we had an amazing time celebrating the graduation of our second YouthBuild cohort! Over the past six months, these young adults have worked incredibly hard to earn their NCCER Construction Certificate, OSHA 10 certification, and, for some, their GED. 👏🏽

Throughout the program, they gained hands-on experience in workplace safety, measuring, framing, and construction—and even had the opportunity to help build classrooms at a local church as they prepare to launch their daycare program. 🛠️🏗️

We are beyond proud of everything this cohort has accomplished and the dedication they have shown throughout their journey. Their hard work is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to see where their skills, determination, and potential take them next! 💙

A little recap of a day filled with community, fun & good vibes 💙

☀️ We’re still keeping the summer events coming in Greater Boston!

On August 14, Skilled US was excited to join the Bridge Boston Charter School Back-to-School BBQ for an afternoon of sunshine, community, connection, and celebrating families as they prepare for another school year.

Our Greater Boston Workforce Outreach Specialist, Catia Rodrigues, was there representing Skilled US and connecting with families and community members to share more about the education, training, and career opportunities available throughout the Greater Boston area.

Events like this are about so much more than simply showing up. They give us an opportunity to meet people where they are, build relationships with families and trusted community partners, listen to what people need, and make sure more individuals know about the resources and pathways available to help them move toward their career goals.

At Skilled US, we believe some of the strongest workforce pipelines begin with authentic community relationships. Whether we're at a career fair, neighborhood event, school, community organization, or a back-to-school celebration, our goal remains the same: creating opportunities and connections that help individuals and families move forward — because learning leads to earning.

A huge thank you to Bridge Boston Charter School for welcoming us and creating such a great afternoon for the community. We loved being part of it and look forward to continuing to build relationships with schools, families, and organizations across Greater Boston.

And summer isn't over yet — we're looking forward to many more opportunities to get out into the community, meet future participants, and connect people with pathways to training and meaningful careers! ☀️🎓💼

🎒✨ Our Inaugural Back to School Community Event was one for the books! ✨🎒

Last weekend, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome more than 50 families for a day filled with fun, connection, and giving back to our community!

Families enjoyed FREE food, games, car washes, haircuts, popcorn, school supplies, and more as we came together to help students and families get ready for a successful new school year. 📚✏️🍿🚗💈

Seeing families, friends, neighbors, and community members come together made the day truly special. As our first-ever Back to School Community Event, we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, and we’re already looking forward to doing it again next year!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended and to the amazing partners, volunteers, businesses, organizations, and community members who helped make this event possible. Whether you donated supplies, provided a free service, volunteered your time, or simply came out to support the day, you played a part in making a difference for families in our community. ❤️

Most importantly, thank you to the 50+ families who joined us and allowed us to be part of kicking off your school year. This is what community is all about! 🙌

Here’s to an amazing school year — we can’t wait to see everyone again next year! 🎉🎒
