We are pleased to welcome our Parents to the 2026 Summer Programs orientationsessions as we look forward to collaboratively working with them for theirchildren in learning and growing together this summer and beyond!

This summer, we will be implementing 3 programs: UpwardCollege Summer Scholars Program (UCSSP) for High School Students that willfocus on research, analytical and leadership, College Prep and LeadershipDevelopment (CPLDP) which activities aim at helping students ready for collegeand success, and week long Summer Leadership Camp.

Big congratulations to T**i San on receiving her Bachelor of Science in Public Health combined with a Certificate of Nutrition from Indiana University Indianapolis IUI)! T**i is a staff member of the BACI Community Health and Wellness Program (CHWP) that provides core public health services to families and members of our community. We are proud of T**i for her accomplishments!

Our heartiest congratulations to Ruth L. Bochung on receiving a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the Fairbanks School of Public Health at Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI)!

Ruth currently serves as Assistant Program Coordinator for Community Health and Wellness Program (CHWP) at BACI. But her participation in the community and service is impressive. Ruth participated in the BACI Upward College Program throughout her high school years and came back and contributed to the community as a medical professional. Now she is assuming leadership responsibilities in our shared community in many ways. We are so proud of her and wish her for further endless success!

Special Session for Graduating HS Seniors –Start Strong & Aim for Higher – the first of its kind in the BACI Upward College Program is held this week. Facilitated by UCP team members, our President Mr. Elaisa Vahnie and graduating students had an interactive conversation on strategies to be successful in college and beyond! We are excited for each of them as they begin their next chapter in a higher education and career journey -- looking to the future!

Congratulations to all HS students who participated and successfully completed the BACI Upward College Program 2025-2026 Academic Year! Over 200 area High School students enrolled this year in this program, and the concluding ceremony was held today at Southport High School.Our special thanks to all meteors and institutional partners Southport High school and Perry Meridian High School for their continued partnership and support.

In partnership with Ivy Tech Community College, we have just implemented 2 batches of Forklift Training sessions where 12 members of our community successfully completed the training and received their license.

BACI’s Small Enterprise and Economic Development (SEED) assists community members with their economic opportunities by providing technical assistance to small business start-ups as well as helping individuals with their career related licensing and training for better earning potential and sustainable employment.
