My apologies for the late notice, we WILL be able to have class on Saturday April 4th. We will be in a different area of the church. Because of the festivities that are being hosted by the church, you may need to park in the lot across from Downey Avenue. Please see the map below for specifics. Also, please enter door 3, rather than door two. Down the stairs then to the left to our new Dojo space. I hope to see many of you tomorrow!

With the nasty weather arriving sooner than expected, we have decided to POSTPONE Hanshi Morgan's visit. We will try to reschedule for later this month.

REMINDER: Tonight is our last visit of the year from Hanshi Morgan. He will be at the Downey Dojo for the 6 pm and 7 pm classes. ALL Students are welcome to attend. Please wear your white dogi for this special event.

Hanshi Morgan will be teaching at the NORTHWOOD dojo tonight during the intermediate and advanced classes. ALL STUDENTS from any location are welcome to attend. Please wear your WHITE dogi if you have one.

REMINDER
Tomorrow, Saturday Sept 20, Northwood CC will host CFI-70 Global Fest 2025 from 3-9 pm. We WILL hold our normal afternoon classes. Students and families are encouraged to enjoy the festival after class is over, it is a great time, and CFI-70's primary fundraiser.

You will NOT be able to park or drive in the normal parking lot. Cyclists are welcome and there will be bike parking available. Your choices are to drop off karate students along Central Ave and have them find their way to class OR park at CFI-70 or along the streets and have them walk.

Lil' Dragons will meet in our normal room from 2:15-2:45 pm. All other classes will meet outside near our booth on the northeast corner of the building. Classes will be held outside, with chances for the students to help with audience participation.

Students should wear their BLACK uniform if they own one, to minimize the chance of stains.

If this sounds like too much to deal with, feel free to skip Saturday and make-up the absence at a future class.

Nine students promoted to their next belt this week during Hernly Family Karate Summer Camp. We did the math, a week of summer camp is equivalent in time to a full year of after school programming. We still have 3 weeks of summer camp left, please register soon to ensure your spot.

We're having lots of fun during Week #3 of karate summer camp. Tomorrow, 8 of our campers will promote to their next belt! Students can make great progress during a week of camp. Attending morning or afternoon only is equivalent to one semester of after school karate, full day campers area receiving the same amount of training as a full year of after school karate.

In addition to good karate training, we also have a lot of fun playing games that increase our strength and skills. We also set our goals on Monday and check in at the end of each day to see how far we progressed. Check our chalk board in the pictures below for our daily schedule.

We have three more weeks of camp for summer 2025, but sign up soon! We plan to close registration next week on all of our camps, and one of the weeks has not yet met the minimum number of students, putting it in danger of being canceled.

Sad news, Hanshi Phil Morgan has had to cancel his monthly visit to the Northwood Dojo this month. Let's all wish Mrs. Morgan a speedy recovery from surgery!
