Join Newfields and Arte Mexicano en Indiana for a magical night of Las Posadas at Winterlights! ✨

Tonight's celebration honors Las Posadas, a nine-day tradition observed in Latin American countries, commemorating Mary's journey in search of shelter during Jesus' birth.

Enjoy musical performances and the colorful "Big Piñata" art installation. This installation is by Happy Rebels, a Mexican art collective, and is inspired by the celebratory season. 🪅

Beautiful community-created altars, or ofrendas, are now exhibited at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art through the beginning of November. Enjoy each of these intricate works of art and even add a note or photo for your own departed loved one! The exhibit is open and free to visit during regular museum hours. 🖼️ ***os

Interested in a FREE virtual exchange opportunity with classrooms in Mexico and Colombia? 💻

AFS USA was just awarded a grant to provide 20+ high school classrooms a virtual exchange experience with classrooms in Mexico and Colombia during the 2023-24 academic year at no cost to the school, teacher, or students. ��The exchange content focuses on global competence and can be conducted entirely in English, Spanish, or a combination. Most classrooms will participate in the spring semester, but some of the teacher training will begin this fall. At least 3 classrooms will begin this fall as well. ��Schools with a high level of socioeconomic need or with high levels of diversity will be given priority in the selection process, but all classrooms are encouraged to apply.

Spanish, English as a New Language, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, and Dual Language classrooms are a tremendous fit for this opportunity but all content areas are welcome and encouraged to participate.
