In an unforgettable surprise reveal during a school pep rally, Mrs. Melrose discovered the celebration was actually all for HER! 🎊 Along with this incredible honor, she was awarded a $3,000 prize in recognition of her outstanding dedication and impact.
This achievement is truly historic in that Mrs. Melrose is the ONLY Teacher of the Year winner for grades K–8 across Concept Schools’ network of 40+ schools in 7 states, and she is the FIRST teacher from Indiana to ever receive this prestigious honor! 🌟
Even more impressive, she was chosen from more than 650 nominations and 380 applications, making this recognition an extraordinary accomplishment.

🚀✨ BLAST OFF with IMSA West! ✨🚀
Our students had an out-of-this-world celebration for Space Day, celebrated annually on the first Friday in May!
From crafting their very own astronaut helmets 🧑🏾🚀👩🏿🚀to singing along and learning the planets, exploring moon phases with hands-on labs, and “traveling” across the solar system in a rocket simulation…every moment was packed with discovery and excitement!
We even took a “Space Walk” through the hallways…featuring a surprise appearance by a three-eyed alien! 👽
And of course, we wrapped it all up with an “Out of This World” dance party! 💃🏾🕺🏿
Days like this remind us that learning truly knows no limits, especially when we reach for the stars! 🌟

This weekend, 44 of our amazing IMSA West scholars traveled to compete in CONSEF events against schools from Concept Schools schools across the Midwest and they delivered INCREDIBLE results! 💥👏
These accomplishments reflect the hard work, determination, and brilliance of our students, along with the unwavering support of our staff and families. We are so proud of our scholars! 💙 A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Tschaenn, our admin team, and all staff and family members who gave their time and energy this weekend to support our scholars in Chicago. 🌍🎉 “Map”-nificent Student Succcess at IMSA West! 🎉🌍
IMSA West hosted its first-ever Geography Bowl, organized by Mr. Kitchen; and what an incredible success it was! Students showed off their knowledge, teamwork, and competitive spirit while even our kindergarteners joined in to watch and learn.
🏆 Congratulations to our winners!

Everyone was treated with juice and cookies for their 15 minute break in between rounds.

Today, we had the pleasure of watching our Marian University Indianapolis senior Psychology interns present their incredible internship experiences here at IMSA West and we couldn’t be more proud!
👏🏽Congratulations to Megan Bonfield, our dedicated Academic Tutor and Small Group Skills for Success Instructor, and Samantha Martinez, our outstanding English Learner Support Intern. These two have made a meaningful impact on our students, staff, and school community.
