Junior Ben Parr ’27 has made music a defining part of his Cathedral experience, from performing at football games and pep rallies to competing at the state level in piano.
Now, he’s using that same passion to make a difference.
Through his St. Andre Project, Playing for the Parks, Ben performs music to raise money for national parks facing environmental and financial challenges so future generations can experience the same sense of wonder he has found in nature.
As Ben shared, “It’s a beautiful international language that offers so much to learn, and if someone else can learn something from my music, about me, themselves, or the world, then I have succeeded.”
His story is a powerful example of what it means to serve with purpose.

For Cathedral drum majors Lilly Valentine '26 and Mary Eifert '26, band has been about more than performing. It’s been a place to grow in leadership and confidence.
From games and parades to representing Cathedral in New Orleans this spring, they helped bring music to life for the Cathedral family.
“You never know what’s going on in someone’s life and how much they might need to hear music that uplifts them.”
That’s what it means to create and inspire.

A little bit of wind couldn’t dampen the spirits of the Pride of the Irish Marching Band last Friday at the Indianapolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It was so windy we couldn’t even wear our plumes!
