Celebrating Burmese American Month & the 250th birthday of America!
Privileged to have the opportunity give a welcoming remark last night at the Burmese American Month cerebration. Happy to share the brief of my welcoming remarks in the following:
This event this year is particularly special, very special. As we are celebrating Burmese American Month this July, we are also celebrating the 250th birthday of America this month! A very Happy Birthday America!—Indeed, we are profoundly grateful to America, the American people, and our Hoosier neighbors for welcoming us and allowing us to start our new lives here in the land of freedom and opportunity. We are deeply appreciative and humbled by the support from friends and the receiving communities. The successes and so many positive and incredible things we are seeing today in our shared communities are a direct result of a joint effort and a testament to the bonds and collaborative spirits we have forged together in our home.
As we move forward and look to the future, I have absolute belief and confidence that America has been and will always be a land of freedom and opportunity built with refugees and immigrants --- like you and me, WE the PEOPLE for the People, by the People-- and this will be inevitably true to generations to come. And to think and know that – you, our children, and grandchildren, will continue to be the ones who will lead continuously to build a Free society and a more perfect Union for ALL, inspired me and encouraged me today to invite you to dream even bigger dreams. With that type of vision, hope and trust, no doubt we can all embrace this spirit in UNITY with our hearts as we march towards the next 50 years, 250 years. God bless you! God bless America! God bless the people of Myanmar!
