PRAYER: Jesus Christ, you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I however am often blown this way and that by the storms of life. Anchor me, O Lord, in your gospel promises that I may never be swept away from you. Transform my days, O Lord, by the new life that is mine in the waters of baptism. Amen.

PRAYER: Gracious Lord, you have placed in my life many situations aimed to stretch my faith and trust in you. They are opportunities for me to lean not on my strength and understanding but upon yours. Give me the needed patience to be still and calm in these situations that I may not miss what your desire for me to learn. May the longsuffering patience of Christ transform my outlook in life, as I remember that there is nothing that can tear me away from your faithfulness to me. Amen.

PRAYER: Jesus, you have been kind and compassionate to me. In your cross I see just how far you were willing to go to bring me back from my sin. Fill me with the same yearning to help others to repent of their sin and turn to you for grace. May I do it with the gentleness, respect, and concern that is needed, so that your promises may be clearly heard and received. May others see you and not me in my words and actions. Amen.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, as I begin a new month, remind me that Your mercies are new to me each morning. Refresh my spirit and renew my soul that I may approach life with the fresh perspective of Your grace. You have washed away the guilt of my past, so I no longer need to bear those burdens. Create in me the new life that is mine in Christ Jesus. It is in His name that I pray. Amen.
