🌟 Celebrating Our Citizens of the Month! 🌟

This month at JGKA, we have been focusing on RESPONSIBILITY, being a dependable member of our classroom team and doing our part to help our class succeed! 💙

Our Citizens of the Month have shown incredible leadership by sticking together and being teammates others can count on. Whether it’s walking quietly in the hallway, being ready to learn, following directions, or lending a helping hand, these students are showing us what responsibility looks like every day.

We are SO proud of these students for being responsible, dependable, and AMAZING teammates! 🌟👏

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Celebrating Our Master Teacher-Mrs. Terrell! 🌟

Today we celebrated our incredible Master Teacher on her last day with us before she begins an exciting new chapter! 💛

She has made such an impact on our building—not only by helping us become better instructors, but by coaching us to be the very best educators we can be for our students. She encouraged us to dig into data, try new best-practice strategies, reflect on our instruction, and always keep our students at the heart of what we do.

But perhaps her greatest gift has been the way she supported and encouraged those around her. She has been a coach, cheerleader, teammate, and friend—and our school is better because of her leadership and influence.

We are so grateful for everything she has poured into our staff and our students. While we will certainly miss having her in our building each day, we are excited to see all the ways she will continue to make a difference in her new role.

We are cheering you on every step of the way! 🫶🏻

🌟 Today’s spotlight was on indoor recess with Mrs. Little and Mrs. Miller’s classroom!🌟

☀️ The Heat Isn’t Keeping Us Down! ☀️

Even though it’s hot outside, we’re still having fun and learning inside! Students enjoyed free play with friends, building and creating with LEGOs, Magna-Tiles, and other building toys.

Free play gives children the opportunity to use their imagination, make choices, solve problems, practice social skills, and learn how to work together. They’re learning to share ideas, take turns, communicate, and build friendships—all while having FUN! 💛

Play is learning, too! 🌟

🌟 180 Days of Learning Spotlight: Mrs. Delgado & Mrs. Jeffers 🌟

Mrs. Delgado, our secretary, and Mrs. Jeffers, our treasurer, are a BIG reason JGKA runs so smoothly each day!

They are often the first smiling faces our families see and provide the welcoming, supportive customer service that makes everyone feel valued. From helping with the car rider line and enrolling new Little Giants to supporting staff and making sure classrooms have the resources they need, they are always ready to jump in and help.

Their work may often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt throughout our entire school. We are so thankful for the care, teamwork, and dedication they bring to our JGKA family every day! 💙💛

🌟 Welcome to our Little Giants Learning Spotlight—Day 25 of 180! 🌟

Every day, we'll open the door to a different kindergarten classroom to showcase the incredible learning happening throughout our building. You’ll get an inside look at how our Little Giants learn, grow, and shine each day.

Our goal is to celebrate our students, highlight the amazing work of our educators, and give families a window into the joyful learning experiences that make our kindergarten community so special.

✨ Spotlight on Mrs. McClellan and Mrs. McGrath’s room! ✨

Today, our students were busy learning and creating during a fun writing lesson! They reviewed the different types of lines from Scribble Scrabble—around and around, up and down, and side to side—as they practiced the foundational skills that help them become confident writers and artists!

Students also reviewed the colors they’ve learned so far and were excited to discover a new color: pink! 💗 They then put their learning into practice by using their different types of lines to color pictures of things that are pink in our world.

We love watching our kindergarteners build those important early writing skills while having fun and exploring their creativity!

We are excited to celebrate two team members who truly embody our JGKA Ideal Educator profile!

🍎 Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Bragg
Mrs. Bragg is a great teammate who is always willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed. She loves our students and builds such meaningful connections with them. Her caring nature, teamwork, and commitment to our students make her so deserving of this recognition!

⭐ Staff Member of the Month: Miss Davenport
Miss Davenport has demonstrated incredible flexibility through so many changes, always doing so with a smile on her face. She is dependable, positive, and encouraging, and she is always willing to step in and help wherever needed. Her ability to adapt while continuing to support and encourage those around her is such a valuable part of our team!

Congratulations, Mrs. Bragg and Miss Davenport! We appreciate all that you bring to JGKA each day!

✨ Spotlight on Mrs. Hickson and Mrs. Biggs’s room! ✨

Our students were learning through hands-on exploration with sand and rice! They had the opportunity to scoop, pour, measure, and explore different textures while building fine motor skills, practicing coordination, and using their imaginations.

Learning through play makes for some of the best discoveries!

GIANT GEAR AWARD RECIPIENTS!

💙 Mrs. Jessica Delgado & Ms. Tracy Miller 💙

Mrs. Delgado: When we think about the JGKA Ideal Educator, there isn't one of the 16 qualities that Mrs. Delgado doesn't embody! The three that stand out most are caring, patient, and calm. She has stepped into her new role like a champ, bringing that calm and caring presence to our often-chaotic front office. She is always quick to ask, “How can I help you?” and if she doesn't know the answer, she helps find it. Mrs. Delgado is a huge asset to our team, and the gears wouldn't work right without her! ⚙️

Ms. Miller: Ms. Miller is so dedicated to her students and consistently goes above and beyond to support, encourage, and inspire them! She truly cares about each student's success and works hard to create a positive environment where students feel supported and valued. Her dedication, heart, and commitment to our Little Giants make her a true JGKA Ideal Educator! ⚙️

✨ Spotlight on Mrs. Acevedo- our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year! ✨

What a special night celebrating our Teacher of the Year ❤️ During halftime of tonight’s Battle of the Birds football game, we had the opportunity to celebrate her alongside the other amazing district Teachers of the Year and recognize the incredible impact she makes every day.

We are so proud to honor her hard work, dedication, and heart for our kindergarten students. She brings joy, passion, and a commitment to helping every child learn and grow. Our students are lucky to have her, and we are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our Little Giants family! 🫶🏻
