Such a fun day for our Middle Schoolers at Activate!
They spent the afternoon playing games, laughing, and building memories together. They came back to the Student Residence Building glowing with excitement—and couldn’t stop telling everyone to go experience it too! 💛

Paper. Tape. Marbles. And a whole lot of problem-solving.
Isaac Lederach's class designed marble runs with one goal: make the marble take as long as possible to reach the end. They built, tested, timed, adjusted, and repeated- over and over again.
This was engineering in action: perseverance through frustration, creativity under constraints, and celebrating every small win along the way.

Our first Outstanding Orioles Staff Spotlight for the month of February is James McClish, a paraprofessional within the middle school and high school departments.
His supervisor, Principal Annette Tavernese had this to say: James is one of our MS & HS paraprofessionals. He consistently supports our students. He asks our teachers what they need from him, and he will do it with no hesitation. He has been taking on additional duties when asked.
Please give James a big congratulations if you see him around. We thank you for your hard work and dedication to the Indiana School for the Deaf!

The ISD superintendent and a group of administrators recently attended the "topping off" ceremony for the residential hall on the new campus!
They signed the final beam for the building, which was lifted into place as they watched. The beam was topped by an evergreen tree, as is Scandinavian tradition. The tree symbolizes good luck, safety and completion.
