Christel House Academy South serves K-12 students. It is a public charter school located in Indianapolis. Now the real work could begin.
In May, 2001, Indiana became the 37th state to pass charter schools legislation. The new law gave the Mayor of Indianapolis, among other entities, the authority to charter schools. Later that same year, Christel House Academy was legally established, and its board of directors began the ambitious task of applying to the Mayor’s office for authority to create a charter school. We were very lucky to host our friends and volunteers from RCI and Travel + Leisure Co yesterday as they helped our teachers and staff prepare for students to start next week! They worked hard laminating, decorating bulletin boards, organizing supplies, and so much more! Many volunteers come year after year and have built great relationships with our staff. Thank you, RCI and Travel + Leisure for your generosity of time and dedication to Christel House!
