The Growing Tree Nursery School

A space where children are unhurried, have predictable rhythms and plenty of time to explore. Children feel safe, grounded and seen.

Simple playthings and time in nature provide so much wonder and opportunity for discovery.

We start the art studio space very very simple. The children become acquainted with the space. We observe. Add materials bit by bit. Then, the magic happens. Children become inspired. They ask for things. “I need tape!” And so it goes. We build upon it. We ask questions, we challenge, we add skills, we offer inspiration, etc. They become so engaged and so empowered and so creative. Lovely to behold.

Big kid/spring break/past children join us in a delightful sharing of space.

Rediscovering playthings, spotting seeds and buds falling and floating, chorus of birds and we can hear that the woodpeckers are back, first found worm!

Space to run and shout, and endless things to discover.

A heavy spool to push, wagons to pull, a cozy blanket for relaxing. Tornado siren testing and helicopter overhead!

Winters can be long, with young children indoors, but the spring is so exulting!
