Congratulations to current Ben Davis High School senior Jashawn Ladd on being named to the 2026 Indiana All-Star team! He becomes the 16th boys basketball and 33rd combined (boys & girls) player to be named to the prestigious team. In addition, Steve Witty and Don Carlisle have both coached the Indiana All-Stars boys team, and Stan Benge coached the Indiana All-Star girls team. For your reference, we've also included the list of Indiana boys and girls All-Stars from Ben Davis. Congratulations to Jashawn!

Feeling awful that we missed this obituary. Mr. Rex Haviland passed away last May. Our condolences go out to his family and many friends. Mr. Haviland taught mass media, speech, theatre and served as Graduation Coordinator for decades. There were no services. Again, we apologize for the late notice.

Giants know how to get it done! Coach Stan Benge, Coach Curt Benge and Coach Porchia Green just coached the East Team to a 91-71 win over the West Team in the Girls McDonald's All-American Game in Phoenix, Arizona. Coach Benge and Coach Benge are both Ben Davis alumni. Stan, of course, is the second-winningest coach all-time in Indiana girls basketball at 717 wins. Curt has won 475 games. Porchia Green (an Arlington grad) is currently on Stan's bench as one of the assistant coaches at Ben Davis, but she has 21 wins of her own when she was head coach at Howe. Great win for these great coaches.

The East gets it done. They overcome a 40-39 halftime deficit to beat the West, 91-71, in the McDonald's All-American Game! Congratulations to Coach Stan Benge, Coach Porchia Green, Coach Curt Benge and Indiana All-Star Lola Lampley!

Congratulations to Jazz 1 for their amazing performance at ISSMA Jazz State Finals! We were awarded Best Trumpet Section and Jeremiah Herron was awarded for Outstanding Solo!
It was an honor to share the stage with Carroll, Castle, Homestead, Lafayette Jefferson, Noblesville, North Central, Penn, and this year's Honor Band North Side!
