CLUB SPOTLIGHT: El Club Proyecto SOL se enfoca en la eco-terapia, utilizando la naturaleza como herramienta para cuidar nuestro bienestar físico y mental. Los estudiantes aprenderán cómo cuidar a nuestro planeta, su comunidad y ellos mismos. Proyecto SOL se reunirá una vez a la semana durante el otoño (8 sesiones en total). Cada semana se destacará un nuevo tema de la eco-terapia, incluyendo: jardinería, plantas nativas, polinizadores nativos, yoga, arte, política y una divertida recolección de basura. Se reunirá los lunes, desde la finalización de clases hasta las 5:30 PM (del 14 de septiembre al 9 de noviembre, excepto durante las vacaciones). Para los estudiantes en grados 1 a 5.

CLUB SPOTLIGHT: El Sistema Indianapolis is offering FREE after school music enrichment clubs for students grades 2 through 5. Rhythm Explorers meets Mondays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the music room. Ukulele Explorers meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the music room. Snacks are provided, and El Sistema provides ukuleles for students to take home and practice. Music clubs begin August 31! Spaces are limited!

CLUB SPOTLIGHT: New this year at Carver, we are partnering with College Mentors For Kids - Butler University for a free after-school program on Tuesdays, starting September 29. Each enrolled Carver student will be paired with a Butler student mentor for the school year. On club days, students will take a bus to Butler's campus where they will meet with their mentor for activities and to hear from guest speakers focused on higher education, community service, culture, and/or diversity.

CLUB SPOTLIGHT: We are excited to continue our partnership with Indy Chess to provide a free professionally coached chess program to help build critical thinking and sportsmanship! The club will meet in the Art Room on Monday mornings at 8 a.m. starting August 24. All students in grades 2nd-5th grade are eligible (1st graders can be put on a waitlist), and spaces are limited.

The program will be coached by Coach Jerika Eppel, a 1500+ USCF-rated player who recently taught at the Memphis Chess Center, ran the Arkansas State Chess Championship, and holds a Master's degree in Education.

CLUB SPOTLIGHT: Through a partnership with Hernly Family Karate, we're able to offer two karate clubs for our students. Karate meetings started this week, but it's not too late to join!

L'il Dragons is for pre-K through 1st graders, and they meet on Tuesday mornings at 8:30.

Advanced karate for 2nd-5th grade students meets after school on Wednesdays until 4:45.
