Requirements:

- Previous management experience in a daycare or preschool setting

- Knowledge of the CCDF program (preferred)

- Experience in meal preparation

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and optimize the daily operations of facility.

- Detailed record keeping

- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the CCDF program

- compliance with CACFP (food) program requirements and paperwork.

- Coordinate meal preparation and menu planning

- Implement efficient organizational systems to enhance productivity

- Provide leadership and support to staff members

- Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians

We are saddened by the unexpected passing of our pre-K teacher, Ms. Amanda. Please pray for her family during this difficult time. Her obituary and arrangements are below. May she Rest In Peace is the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amanda K. Sturgell, 48, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021.

She was born June 9, 1973 in Franklin, IN to Paul E. and Sally S. (McNeely) Sturgell.
She was a 1991 graduate of Franklin Community High School, attended Vincennes University and was a 1996 graduate of Ball State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also was an accomplished semi-professional vocal performer. She studied classical music in her youth; participated in theatre and show choir throughout her high school and college years; sang at many weddings; and participated in competitive dance.

She had been a pre “K” teacher at Leaps and Bounds Christian Daycare in Indianapolis, IN for six years. She was a wonderful teacher and made a positive impact in many of their young lives. She had a passion for teaching them that was unsurpassed. She was a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church Trafalgar Campus. She was a member of the Voices in Johnson County and especially enjoyed singing; Mustang cars; animals; all types of music, especially jazz. Amanda especially loved attending and helping with Vacation Bible School. She loved traveling. Her favorite city was New York, and her favorite family vacation was to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Amanda counted among her accomplishments her children, of whom she was so immensely proud, and her degree from Ball State University.

Survivors include her children Savannah N. Sturgell, Tobias B. Sturgell and Saharah A. Sturgell, parents Paul E. and Sally S. (McNeely) Sturgell of Trafalgar, IN, brothers David P. Sturgell (Jeanette) of New Harmony, IN and Matthew E. Sturgell (Bethany) of Germantown Hills, IL, eight nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and several cousins.

Pastor Travis Taylor will conduct a service on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 1PM at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church Trafalgar Campus, 375 Pleasant Street, in Trafalgar, IN. Friends may call Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 4PM until 8PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and from 12 Noon Wednesday until service time at the church. Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, IN.

The family requests memorial contributions be made for the care of her daughter Saharah A. Sturgell having checks payable to Paul E. or Sally S. Sturgell, in care of Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) Franklin, IN 46131 with a trust to be established at a future date.
