In our classroom, math is something children can see, touch, and build with their hands long before it’s ever written on paper. Through Montessori materials, children explore quantity, number recognition, place value, and the decimal system in a concrete, meaningful way. Rather than memorizing facts, they develop a deep understanding of how numbers work by physically manipulating materials and discovering patterns for themselves. This hands-on foundation builds confidence, independence, and a genuine love of mathematics that naturally prepares them for abstract thinking in the elementary years.

Why Village Montessori for my child?
Our classroom is a small, driven community of independent thinkers and doers. The children are encouraged to be who they are. Naturally curious and able to learn about the world around them. We provide the flexibility for the children to learn in the way that suits them best, helping them acquire important life skills that last a lifetime.

The priority application deadline is February 27, so be sure to submit your application soon to secure your spot.

Our summer camps will be open to the public starting March 2, offering fun, engaging, and educational experiences for children of all ages.

In Montessori, reading begins with curiosity , experienced through all the senses, and we fully embrace that here at Village.

Children see and touch letters with sandpaper, hear the sounds as they say them aloud, and move their hands as they write. They explore miniature objects, noticing the sounds at the beginning of words. Step by step, they begin sounding out words and reading with joy.

Our first truly cold day is behind us here at Village Montessori. We spend up to three hours outdoors each day, and while a couple children shared they felt chilly, they were redirected and had a wonderful time building giant snowballs, running around with friends and exploring the playground in a new environment, covered in snow. They loved experiencing the magic of the first snow. These moments matter. Outdoor time helps children build resilience and confidence. Strengthening emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to see challenges as temporary. And the cold truly is temporary. We’re only outside for a portion of the day, always with warmth, care, and safety in mind.

A little supported discomfort can be okay. It teaches children they are capable, adaptable, and brave and we’re grateful to witness that every day.

Now Enrolling for the 2026–2027 School Year

Village Montessori is currently accepting applications for children ages 3–6, including a kindergarten year. Children who will be turning 3 by fall 2026 are eligible to apply.

Last week we learned about Dia de los Mu***os and built an ofrenda to honor the holiday. We used the classic Montessori materials, the Pink Tower and Brown Stairs, known for precision and order. It was beautiful to see how something so rigid and exact, can come together to form something deeply human and symbolic. The children noticed how these shapes appear all around us reminders that the materials live beyond the shelf and classroom. Seeing beauty and balance through the child’s eyes and honoring tradition through Montessori exploration.

Our classroom is buzzing with firsts this week! From our first Walk Around the Sun to exploring a nearby garden biome, our students are diving into discovery and growth.

At Village Montessori, every day is full of discovery and growth. First-years, the explorers, build independence, second-years, the experimenters, deepen their skills, and third-years, the leaders, guide younger classmates and explore complex ideas. Children connect with nature, practice cooperation, and develop leadership in a classroom where curiosity thrives.
