Hello PTA Leaders,

We’ve received several questions recently about what Givebacks is and how it will be used. We’re excited to share more about this platform and how it supports Indiana PTA’s ongoing efforts to modernize and simplify how we do business.

As many of you know, over the years we’ve relied on multiple systems: bylaws are submitted via email, officer lists through a Google Form, membership lists through many different ways but Excel files seem to be the way most submit, audits and tax documents stored in separate Google drives, dues payment submitted via check and more. While this has worked, it's not always efficient—and we know you’re busy volunteers juggling many responsibilities. On top of that, we have had several PTAs ask if we could take payments online for dues submissions and we have not been able to provide that option.

Much of what Indiana PTA requires from local units is to help keep you compliant with IRS regulations—because no one wants a visit from the IRS, especially when you're serving your community as a volunteer. The work you do is too important.

PTAs across Indiana are doing incredible things. In my district, when my kids were in school, our council PTA put AEDs in all the schools, currently this same council has fed and clothed 89,000 people in 12 years! We have PTAs that are doing wellness fairs and cultural fairs. We had a PTA that put a v**e disposal box in their middle school. The council in that area thought that was such a great idea, it has made it district wide for their middle and high schools. Many of our councils and PTAs have given away thousands of books in partnership with Phoenix Publishing. There are so many amazing things happening! We want to help you keep doing those things and make it easier for you to continue.

Enter Givebacks!

Givebacks is our new tool to streamline how you submit required documentation. Think of it as your one-stop-shop for compliance. We are asking all local PTAs to create a Givebacks account. Through this account, you’ll be able to:

*Submit your officer list
*Upload your bylaws
*Provide proof of required insurance
*Manage audit and tax documents
*Conveniently pay your dues online

This change simply centralizes how you share required information with us—it makes the process easier, more organized, and less stressful for everyone involved.

But Givebacks offers even more—and that’s why we chose it!

Many PTAs struggle with member communication. Givebacks provides a free website for your PTA that you can customize. You can use their free domain or purchase your own. The platform also includes:

*Newsletter templates for easy email communication (linked directly to your member list in Givebacks!)
*A store to sell spirit wear or fundraiser items year-round
*Tools to help you manage and engage with your members

While the primary reason we’re asking you to use Givebacks is for required documentation, we’re thrilled that this same platform can also support your PTA in other ways. These additional features are completely optional—but available to you at no extra cost.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and confident that Givebacks will make life easier for our local units while helping you stay compliant and connected.

If you have questions or need support getting started, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!

Thank you for everything you do for your schools and communities.
