📘 According to Project Jumpstart, Latino students participate in dual credit at 20% and AP at 11% statewide—yet some Indiana schools are closing those gaps and seeing strong outcomes.

What are these schools doing differently?

This past Saturday, our students helped plant flowers that will bring joy to thousands of guests this season. A beautiful and !

Highlight of the day: Our incredible Education Specialist created a meaningful and engaging experience for our students—from exploring the museum and sharing lunch to discovering career opportunities in Therapeutic Horticulture.

This event is so important for ! Students gained insight into:

Horticulture career paths
Community engagement opportunities
Volunteer hours
Museum exploration and fun!

Students connected, asked questions, and discovered new opportunities they might not have considered before.

📚New Report Released! Access to rigorous high school coursework—like dual credit and Advanced Placement (AP)—helps students earn college credit, build confidence, and increase their chances of completing higher education. But not all students have equal access.

📘 The Indiana Latino Institute (ILI) has released Project Jumpstart, a new report examining why Latino students in Indiana participate in dual credit and AP courses at rates about five percentage points lower than the state average—and what can be done to close these gaps.

Through statewide data analysis and direct input from students, families, and educators, Project Jumpstart identifies both the barriers students face and the strategies already working in Indiana schools. The findings show that these challenges are real, but addressable.

Expanding access to advanced coursework for Latino students strengthens pathways to college and careers—for all students across Indiana.
