Eastwood Middle School Orchestras

Our final performance this year was one of our favorite places to perform - the Glendale Library! Eastwood String Ensemble presented a musical storytime for a packed room of 75 children (plus their grown-ups!). Love this partnership with our local library and the ability to share our joy of making music with our community.❤️🎻📚🦅

Completed the setup for our Spring Orchestra Concert this morning! When the 6th graders entered for lunch at the end of Chamber Orchestra’s very quick run-through, we decided to just stay on the stage and perform all of our pieces for them.🎻

Our Eastwood Chamber Orchestra made history tonight! This was the first time an Orchestra from Eastwood has entered ISSMA Contest at Group 1 - this is the most difficult group possible. The students did a truly phenomenal job performing their extra challenging music. We not only earned a Gold Rating, but for the third year in a row, we earned the With Distinction honor and took home a perfect score. Incredibly proud of these fabulous musicians!!!💗

Our ISSMA preparations continued yesterday with the fabulous Heather Nieto running a clinic with Chamber Orchestra after school. The students were locked in and ready to take her suggestions to stretch their musicality.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Naoki Goldfinger, Ethan Sheffield, and Wren Thomas on their performances at ISSMA State Solo & Ensemble Contest today!!! Competing at an advanced high school level, all three earned gold ratings, with Ethan earning a ‘with distinction’ honor!👏🦅🏅

Ending February on a high note! String Ensemble enjoyed performing for Winterfest last night, and Chamber had a blast working with our first Clinician, Alexandro Cazares!
