Most men I work with don’t realize how starved they are for real, non-s*xual touch.

One of my clients put it this way:
“There’s a gap: no touch, or only s*xual touch. You helped me see everything in between—and how much I need that to heal.”

This gap is real.
We’re told to toughen up.
We’re told hugs are awkward.
We’re told the only safe outlet for touch is s*x.
But human beings need safe, healing, physical connection. Long hugs. A hand on the shoulder. Brotherhood that says, you’re not alone.
For many men, reclaiming this simple truth becomes a turning point in their healing journey.

This is one of the most transformational things I do all year. I have only a few spots for men who are courageous enough to join me.

On Friday, 31 men from 5 states converge for the weekend to drop the mask, be real, grow and serve together for the 7th annual Celebration of Awesomeness.

We will cold plunge, do breath work, cook, eat, pray, play, and learn from 6 presenters on Conscious Communication.

It is one of the most remarkable things I get to experience every year. A man without a tribe is missing something IMO.

Even though I founded this, it is so much bigger than me. It is a community of men devoted to grow and serve together. I couldnt be more honored to be in their midst.

Patricia Russo Thank you so much for being willing to zoom into our men's group this year to answer our questions regarding male/female communication. You are the first woman ever to attend COA (virtually) and I am positive your wisdom and experience is much needed for us men.

Who do you trust more...someone who has read about something in a book or someone who had to learn it to survive?

Education isnt always in a degree.

I was reminded of this when I met with an incredibly smart and successful (makes over a million a year) client this week. Both his parents are prominent psychologists. It was our first meeting. He came to session with a fair dose of healthy skepticism.

At the end of our session, his smile told me there was a new hope in him, that some shame had lifted as he stood a little taller. He said after years of therapy I wanted to try this, and I am glad I did. "You are really good."

After thanking him and telling him how excited I am for the life he is going to get to live, I reflected, "You know, I had to learn this in order to live."

If you knew you were truly loved and lovable, how might your life change?

I know for me, I would be more fearless. I would take more risks, play more, be less in my head and more in the moment. I would never numb out even with sweets (the last hold out of my addiction).

I have done a lot of work in this area for sure. I use to hate myself. I was terrified that if you know me you would hate me the way I did...so I hid and pretended to be someone I wasnt. When I did get approval I knew I didnt deserve it because that wasnt even the real me.

Today, is so much different. I have learned to see the value in my "flaws" and have healed tremendously from that feeling of "not enough." There is more work to do. Always. Yet, so much progress has been made.
