🏐 The first volleyball game of the season is in the books! 🏐

And what made it even more fun? Our Gold and Maroon Teams got to play EACH OTHER! 💛❤️

Our 4th and 5th grade girls are an incredibly athletic group, and we’re excited to see all they accomplish this season. They showed teamwork, energy, determination, and plenty of school spirit on the court!

We have a feeling it’s going to be a GREAT season! 🏐🙌

Third Grade classes of CFI70 traveled to downtown Indianapolis for a "Walk and Talk" tour with historian and famed tour guide, Sampson Levingston. The field trip connected to our Who We Are unit with the central idea of, "Communities are continually evolving and are shaped by individuals and cultures," and this week's specific line of inquiry, "Many communities have physical places that hold meaning for their community."

Sampson led us down Indiana Avenue, into the Walker Theater (even up to the balcony!), and along the Central Canal. Students were immersed in the present wonder and beauty of our city while also seeing images and hearing stories from the past!

🎉 The Joys of Gym Class! 🎉

There’s something pretty special about the smiles, laughter, and teamwork that happen when our students get moving! 💙 Today, our students had a blast with the play parachute—working together, communicating, moving, and, of course, having LOTS of fun! 🌈

Activities like these are more than just play. They give our students opportunities to practice being Caring and Communicators as they encourage one another, work as a team, and make sure everyone is included. They’re also developing confidence, cooperation, and a lifelong love of being active. 💪😊

At CFI 70, we know some of the best learning happens when students are having fun together! 🪂✨

We are excited to share that Center for Inquiry School 70 has been recognized as a 2025–26 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished Launch School!

This national recognition honors schools committed to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement through PLTW's hands-on STEM learning experiences.
Through PLTW Launch, our students engage in computer science, engineering, science, and problem-solving experiences that encourage them to create, collaborate, take risks, and think like innovators.

We are incredibly proud of our students and the STEM learning happening at 70!

There’s a spot at Mary Nicholson School 70 that used to be a simple hallway. The kind of space people walk through without really seeing.

It looks different now.

That same stretch of hallway is Nyla’s Book Nook, a warm, color-filled reading retreat with comfortable furniture, carefully chosen books, and vibrant murals painted by local artist Boxx. Nyla was a second-grader who passed away in 2025.

What a wonderful first week at CFI 70! 💙✨

Our students were grateful for plenty of time outside—even with all the rain! 🌦️ They loved catching up with old friends and making new ones along the way.
Our teachers didn’t waste any time getting into routines, sharing their favorite back-to-school books 📚, and diving into creative art projects 🎨.

It’s already been a great start, and we can’t wait to watch our students soar throughout the year! 🦅

✨ The first day is always special at CFI 70! ✨

There’s something extra special about watching our students grow through the years. Many of these girls walked through the doors of CFI 70 as kindergartners, and today, they are stepping into 5th grade as leaders of our school community! 💙

One of the most beautiful parts of an elementary school is the friendships that grow in our students. From playground adventures, classroom projects, field trips, celebrations, and everyday moments, these shared experiences create connections and memories that can last for years. Our school community gives children a place to belong, learn from one another, support each other, and grow together. 🥰

We are so proud of the young leaders they have become and can’t wait to see all they accomplish in their final year at 70! 🦁📚✨
