Sharon Polk, a fifth grader at Benjamin Harrison School 2, recently learned that the Indianapolis Public Library selected her artwork for the cover of its annual holiday card, which is being distributed to select library patrons and donors.
“I think that librarians don’t get enough recognition, and it is important to honor what they do,” Polk said. “Books have made me who I am, and for me to have a way to celebrate that is very exciting and meaningful to me.”

Last week, Eli Lilly and Company volunteers joined Pacers Sports & Entertainment, Indiana Pacers Boomer, Freddy Fever at Benjamin Harrison School 2 to kickoff the 2025-26 NBA Math Hoops season.
NBA Math Hoops is more than a game—it’s a dynamic way to build math fluency, executive function, and teamwork. Students draft NBA and WNBA players using real-life stats, then solve math problems under the pressure of a shot clock to score points and win games.
