Greetings, BPE Families!

The Marion County Health Department will be completing universal hearing screenings at Bridgeport Elementary on Friday, September 11th, 2026

A hearing screening is a quick test to see how well you hear different sounds. Hearing screening is often the first step to identify school-age children who need additional hearing evaluation. Delaying or not completing the screening may delay children from being identified and receive the services and accommodations they need to ensure equal access to education.

Grades 1 and 4: All students will be screened in these grades. If you do not wish for your student to be screened, please notify the classroom teacher Before September 11th.

Grades K, 2, 3, 5 and 6: If you wish for your student to be screened and they are not currently in 1st, or 4th grade, please let the classroom teacher know Before September 11th.

Any students that do not pass the initial hearing screen will be re-screened at a later date. Only those students that do not pass the re-screen will be notified of their results. Please reach out to your child’s teacher on Parent Square if you have additional questions regarding hearing screens.

But among the already new curriculum, team members, school duties, and room change, she is working with every child in the building, including our most unique learners.
