Two weeks ago we had 6 students participate in INpact and Bandtastic Bands at Lucas Oil Stadium with 1,000 students from across Indiana who were also chosen to participate in this group. Students worked on music in small groups, learned about leadership, met new people, and performed in Lucas Oil in front of a huge crowd for Drum Corps International Finals.

This week in Character Foundations, we explored the feeling of disappointment and how to handle big emotions when things don’t go as planned. We learned that disappointment often shows up as anger in school-aged children, and we practiced identifying our feelings, naming them, and expressing them in healthy, constructive ways. 💙

Today in Higher Ground, we talked about the importance of collaboration while testing & evaluating a design. We also talked about how mistakes help us learn & the importance of perseverance. 3rd & 4th graders designed a foil boat that could hold as many counters as possible without sinking. We talked about the gifts God gave Bezalel in Exodus 35 and how he used those skills to help others. Most groups were very successful today, even in their failure!

Our chapel speaker yesterday was Pastor Kyle Littel from Crossroads Church in Avon! Using the picture of the Potter and the clay, he reminded us that we don’t have to have it all together. We have a perfect Potter who lovingly shapes and molds us as we grow to know Him more.
