The difference between the speaker who gets booked and the one who doesn't isn't talent.

It's not experience. It's not credentials. It's not even confidence...

It's visibility.

The speaker who got hired for that fall keynote? She might not be more talented than you. But she showed up consistently. She made it easy to find her. She had a clear topic and a place to send people.

Talent gets you ready. Visibility gets you booked.

Summer often feels like a time where the speaking industry slows down.

But actually, it’s the BEST time to set yourself up for a successful fall.

And where most speakers fall behind is by waiting until the right time.

Event planners are actively looking to fill their fall schedules now for September conferences.

So, take this time to take a small action:

- Reach out to that event planner that you’ve been waiting to contact
- Post to your LinkedIn that you’re a speaker
- Set time aside to practice your talk

Drop the action you’re taking to set yourself up for fall in the comments 👇

What we'd tell you on stage if we weren't holding back... 🫳🎤

Most speaking advice focuses on getting booked.

In reality, getting booked is only half the equation.

The speakers who build real momentum are the ones who know how to connect with an audience, deliver transformation, and leave people thinking, "We need this person back next year."

A few reminders:
✨ Stop trying to impress the audience and start serving them.
✨ Your stories matter, but only when they're connected to a takeaway your audience can use.
✨ Finishing on time is one of the fastest ways to earn trust with event planners.
✨ Speaking isn't just a presentation. It's one of the most powerful ways to grow your influence, opportunities, and impact.

The goal isn't to be the smartest person in the room.

The goal is to help the room leave better than they came in.

Which slide hit home for you? 👇

In 2026, planners want more than inspiration; they’re booking speakers who bring relevance, real-world application, and connection.

And while topics matter, what actually sets you apart is how you position yourself from the very first email.

3 ways to stand out in your outreach:

1️⃣ Lead with them, not you
Reference their event, audience, or goals, not just your topic.

2️⃣ Keep it short, but meaningful
3–5 sentences. Personalized. One clear idea that shows you “get it.”

3️⃣ Start a conversation, not a pitch
Ask a question. Offer a thought. Make it easy to respond.

💡 Side Note: This Applies to LinkedIn, Too

The same rules apply to your posts, not just your emails.

Speak to your audience’s challenges, not just your topic

Keep posts clear, specific, and easy to engage with

Invite conversation (questions, insights, perspectives)

👉 The goal isn’t just visibility, it’s to make event planners think:
“They understand my audience. I should talk to them.”

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt like you had to prove yourself twice as hard just to be taken seriously as a speaker. 🙋‍♀️

Maybe you’ve been:

❌ asked to speak for “exposure”
❌ introduced by your relationship status instead of your expertise
❌ called “intimidating” for being confident
❌ convinced your story wasn’t “big enough” to deserve a stage

Here’s what we believe at Mic Drop Workshop:

You do not need a perfect story to become a paid speaker.
You need a message that helps people think, feel, and act differently.

✅ That's what keynotes do.
✅ That’s what impact does.
✅ And that’s what we teach.

If you’ve ever thought:
“Could I actually get paid to speak?”
Then our free training is for you.

Still not over Mic Drop LIVE 🥹✨

There’s just something powerful about finally meeting your in person after cheering each other on from screens, voice notes, and group chats.

Last week was full of the kind of moments that remind us why this community exists: women deciding to use their voices. 💛

From hugs in the hallway to standing ovations, confidence breakthroughs, and conversations that will change careers and lives… the ripple effects are already happening.

And watching women who once questioned if their stories were “big enough” step onto that stage? Unforgettable.

Because powerful speaking isn’t about having the biggest story. It’s about making people feel seen.

Tell us, what was your favorite moment from Mic Drop LIVE?
