Where are you shining your light?š”
We have been conditioned to believe that public speaking means being āin the spotlight.ā But when you operate as a spotlight speaker, the beam of attention points directly back at you. š¦
This mindset tends to cause anxiety, and forces you to treat speaking like a theatrical performance where your success depends entirely on the audienceās approval, something you can never actually control.
A lighthouse speaker actively turns the dial and flips the beam of light away from themselves and out onto the crowd. The goal shifts from shining to guiding. Anxiety melts away. You stop performing, start serving and begin to answer questions like:
āWhat does this room need from me right now? How can my story, lessons, and failures help them navigate their own paths?ā šāØ
š Save this post as a reminder:
A lighthouse doesnāt stand on a cliff wondering if the boats like its paint job or think itās charismatic enough! Its only job is to stay anchored and shine a light so others can find their way. ā
