Today HOT seniors had the unique opportunity to observe an open heart surgery involving an aortic root replacement at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Students watched the procedure from the observation room above the OR table and were able to talk to the surgeon, Dr Bailey, after the surgery. Special thanks to Mrs Shaffer, ICTC’s Learning Facilitator, who set up the observation and to Ms Montgomery, HOT’s Instructional Assistant, for chaperoning and sharing her OR background and experience with our students. 💙

Come and join ICTC's professional team! ICTC has both administrative and instructional positions open for the 2026-27 school year. ICTC has the following vacancies:
Secondary Health Occupations Technology Instructional Aide:
This is a 10-month position congruent with the current support staff contract. Under direct supervision, this employee provides routine, daily assistance to the instructor in the day-to-day performance of classroom and associated activities which
directly impacts student achievement.
Preferred Qualifications: Practical Nursing License, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant with two years of experience working with children.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent

Administrative Assistant to the Director and ICTC Board Secretary:
This is a full-time, 12-month position. The Administrative Assistant to the Director and ICTC Board Secretary will perform confidential secretarial/clerical duties for the Indiana County Technology Center: Joint Operating Committee; Professional Advisory Committee; and the Administrative Director. The employee is responsible for greeting visitors, responding to inquiries, directing and screening calls, and providing administrative support. This position involves a high degree of professional judgment, use of independent discretion and has daily involvement with confidential matters.
Required Qualifications: Applicant must have High School diploma or equivalent, Two (2) years’ experience secretarial work and/or clerical experience and computer skills.

Evening Welding Instructor:
This is a part-time evening position with Adult Education. Must demonstrate organizational, communication, and classroom management skills to provide theoretical and hands-on instruction to students. Candidates can expect a schedule of 1 to 2 nights
a week. Previous teaching experience a plus.
Required Qualifications: Applicant must possess AWS certification or two full-time years of verified work experience in welding.

ICTC HOT is grateful for the partnerships that make meaningful learning opportunities possible for our students. This summer, another outstanding group of students completed an eight-week internship at Indiana Physician Group (IPG). Throughout the program, students rotated through several IPG offices, gaining valuable hands-on experience in direct patient care while expanding their knowledge of the healthcare field. Another way that ICTC HOT students are a step above the rest!💙

🩺 2025-2026 End of Year Statistics for Health Occupations Technology. This has been one busy year and the students “locked in” and got it done!
💙All seniors passed the NOCTI
💙15 Certified Patient Care Technicians
💙 12 Certified EKG Technicians
💙 5 Certified Phlebotomists

We had 15 seniors who received at least one job ready certification, 6 seniors who graduated dual certified, and 2 who accomplished ALL possible certifications offered in HOT! This is why HOT students stand out, hard work and dedication to the profession! 💙

💙London Walters💙
London is a third year senior from Homer Center High School. She chose healthcare because she has always had a love for healthcare and helping people. She has learned that she will meet some incredible people in this career path and have friendships that will last a lifetime. During her time at ICTC, London received her phlebotomist and patient care technician certifications, which she considers a head start to her future career. London plans to attend IUP for psychology.💙
