✨TWC Information Session

Are you looking for an internship that will allow you to gain practical, professional experience? The Washington Center (TWC) partners with more than 400 internship sites in D.C. and across the country, and they work with students one-on-one to help them secure internships that align with their interests and career goals. Come to this information session, hosted by the IUP CPDC, to talk to a TWC representative and learn all about their Academic Internship Program.

✨Professional Panel Series: What I Wish I'd Known in College

Join the CPDC for this Professional Panel Series presentation discussing the things our graduates wish they would have known while in college. Want to know tips and key things you should do while enrolled at IUP? This panel is for you!

✨Networking & Mentorship

Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) for Networking and Mentorship — an engaging session focused on building meaningful professional connections and finding mentors who can guide your career journey. Learn effective strategies for networking both in person and online, initiating professional conversations, and maintaining lasting relationships. This workshop will help you expand your network, gain valuable insights, and make the most of mentorship opportunities during college and beyond.

✨My Cool Career

Join the CPDC 2-3 times a semester for these events where students can network and learn about cool career paths from select IUP alumni and friends. Presenters will share their career journey, answer questions, and engage attendees in discussion. Students can attend an in-person watch party at North Dining Hall where free meal vouchers* will be provided. Please note: to receive the complimentary voucher, students must arrive by 11:20am and stay for the duration of the event.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Cyndy Strittmatter, former Associate Dean for Administration in the Eberly College of Business, has been recognized as an exemplary partner to the IUP CPDC and was awarded an IUP CPDC Partner Hall of Fame Award. Dr. Strittmatter’s unwavering support of students’ career readiness—both during their academic journey and beyond—has had a lasting and meaningful impact, and her dedication to this work has never gone unnoticed.

We are especially grateful for the many ways she consistently championed CPDC’s programs, services, and mission. Whether promoting CPDC initiatives or welcoming our team into her academic college to engage directly with students on career and professional development topics, she exemplified what true collaboration looks like.

IUP has been incredibly fortunate to benefit from her leadership, collaboration, and deep commitment to student success. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Nicole Clevenger, faculty member in the Eberly College of Business, has been recognized as an exemplary partner to the IUP CPDC and was awarded an IUP CPDC Partner Hall of Fame Award. Dr. Clevenger’s commitment to students’ career readiness and professional development is evident in both her teaching and her engagement with our office, and it has made a meaningful difference for the students she serves.

We are especially grateful for the many ways she actively promotes CPDC’s programs, services, and events, as well as for her intentional integration of career development opportunities—such as the mock interview and etiquette dinner programs—into her academic courses. By embedding these experiences directly into the classroom, she helps students make clear connections between their academic learning and the professional skills they will need beyond IUP.

We are so happy to announce that Dr. Tracey Cekada, professor in IUP’s Safety Sciences Department, has been recognized as an exemplary partner to the CPDC and awarded an IUP CPDC Partner Hall of Fame Award. Dr. Cekada’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers in the safety profession is evident through her teaching, industry engagement, and continued collaboration with the CPDC.

We are especially grateful for the many ways Dr. Cekada connects students with professional development opportunities and encourages them to engage with employers and industry professionals. Through her work in the classroom and collaboration with the CPDC, she helps students understand how their academic preparation translates to the skills, experiences, and professional connections needed to succeed in the safety field.
