A Statement to Our Artists, Friends, and Music Community

The music world has lost one of its brightest lights.

Dolly Parton was more than an extraordinary singer, songwriter, entertainer, and icon. She was one of us—an artist who understood the power of a song to tell a story, heal a heart, bring people together, and sometimes change a life.

For generations of artists, Dolly represented something very special. We admired her talent, but we loved her for so much more. We loved her authenticity, her humor, her faith in people, her generosity, and the kindness she showed throughout her remarkable life.

She never seemed to forget where she came from, no matter how famous she became. And perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons she leaves those of us in the arts: success does not require us to lose our humanity.

Her songs became part of the soundtrack of our lives. Artists across genres and generations have sung them, learned from them, been inspired by them, and dreamed bigger because Dolly Parton showed us what was possible.

Many of us are not simply mourning a legendary performer. We are mourning a fellow artist whom we loved.

On behalf of our organization and the many artists whose lives and careers have been touched by Dolly’s music and example, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and the millions of people around the world who loved her.

The stage may be a little darker tonight, but the light Dolly Parton gave this world will never disappear.

Her voice will remain in our songs.
Her kindness will remain in our hearts.
And her legacy will remain in every artist she inspired.

Rest peacefully, Dolly.

We will always love you.

It is with a sad heart that I have to announce the passing of one of our dearest friends and founding member of the Artists Music Guild. Jerry Branscomb was a true artist from the word go. He loved what he did and it showed in every time he got onto the stage. I have been very fortunate to have been able to mentor with him and to help him move higher into his career and I have to say that my heart is truly broken. To Jerry's family I pray that you find peace in knowing that he loved God and always knew that when this day came calling for him he knew right where he was going. On behalf of myself and the whole Artists Music Guild board of directors, fellow members and artists that benefitted from knowing him, we bow our heads in sorrow for the passing of our brother Jerry. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

View Jerry L Branscomb's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

Please join us.

“THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON... I'd love to meet some new friends in the Charlotte area.

I'm looking forward to sharing an afternoon of music, laughter, encouragement, and hope with the wonderful folks at Good Shepherd Chapel in Indian Trail, North Carolina.

For more than fifty years, I've had the privilege of sharing music, laughter, and hope with audiences in 49 states and internationally.

I was born without arms and with severely malformed legs.

People often assume that's my greatest handicap.

It isn't.

Over the years, I've discovered that we all face obstacles and challenges that can handicap us—some are visible, many are not.

I've learned that a handicap is anything that keeps us from being or becoming all that we were created to be.

That's why one of the central messages I'll be sharing Sunday is this:

"Circumstances never determine Identity, Value, Purpose, Limits, or Legacy."

As Psalm 139:14 reminds us, we are "...fearfully and wonderfully made."

Your life matters.

Your story has purpose.

You're A Masterpiece In Progress!™

If you're in the Charlotte or Union County area, I'd be honored to have you join us.

GOOD SHEPHERD CHAPEL
📍 6525 Old Monroe Road
Indian Trail, NC 28079

🗓 Sunday, July 12

Admission is free.

A Love Offering will be received, and ministry resources will be available following the service.

Whether you need a smile, some encouragement, uplifting music, or simply a reminder that God isn't finished with your story yet...
..I hope you'll come spend the afternoon with us.

If you come, please introduce yourself. I'd love the opportunity to meet you personally.

We look forward to seeing you.

The Artists Music Guild is sadden by the breaking news of the passing of a true musical legend. Blue's icon Kat Williams passed away unexpectedly tonight.

Kat, who has been a member of the Guild since 2011 has always been and will always be our heart. She was never too tired to help with any charities we were doing, nor was she ever afraid of rolling up her sleeves and jumping in to help our public schools.

Kat was no stranger to life's hurdles. She had to undergo a complete kidney transplant a few years back. Doctor's said that without it she would have surely passed away sooner. Kat's most famous joke about her new kidney was, "Does this kidney make my butt look bigger?" It's hard to say "goodbye" to a legend, but it's even harder to say when the legend is a FRIEND.

Kat, you were a one of a kind and this world was so fortunate to have met you. Fly high and free and you now know that "All God's Children Have a Place in the Choir."

Arrangements will be underway and posted upon completion. The family has asked for your consideration at this time for their privacy.
