The Sales Surtax renewal is paid for by everyone who shops in Brevard and funds major improvements to our school facilities. This is not a new tax.
Sales Surtax funding allows Brevard Public Schools to complete essential projects that keep campuses safe, comfortable, and ready to serve students for years to come.
At Indialantic, Sales Surtax funding made a new roof possible. Keeping our building up to date and safe for students is a top priority.
From updated air-conditioning systems and new roofs to renovated classrooms, playgrounds, tracks, and safety improvements, these investments help ensure our school buildings continue meeting the needs of students and staff.

The Millage renewal supports opportunities that keep students active, engaged, and connected through elementary athletics. This is not a new tax.

Millage funding helps make Brevard Public Schools’ Elementary Sports Program possible, giving students in grades 3–6 the opportunity to participate in organized sports right at their neighborhood school with no fees, no tryouts, and no transportation barriers.

At Indialantic Elementary, elementary sports, including Soccer, Flag Football, and cheer provide students with opportunities to build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and stay active through healthy competition and school pride.

Millage funding helps make these opportunities accessible to students across Brevard Public Schools.

This is not a new tax. The millage is a renewal of an existing local funding source that helps support employee compensation and school operations throughout Brevard County.

Surtax funding strengthens school safety by providing the security tools schools rely on every day.

This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.

One example is the Raptor Badge Alert system. Funded by the Surtax, the system is designed to enhance student and staff safety by providing a faster emergency response when assistance is needed.

Tools like Raptor help schools communicate quickly and make it possible to respond rapidly in an emergency. When these safety systems are in place, students and staff can feel confident walking through the doors each morning.

Sales Surtax ensures Brevard Public Schools can continue investing in protective measures that help keep every school a safe and welcoming place for students to learn.
