Surtax funding strengthens school safety by providing the security tools schools rely on every day.

This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.

One example is the Raptor Badge Alert system. Funded by the Surtax, the system is designed to enhance student and staff safety by providing a faster emergency response when assistance is needed.

Tools like Raptor help schools communicate quickly and make it possible to respond rapidly in an emergency. When these safety systems are in place, students and staff can feel confident walking through the doors each morning.

Sales Surtax ensures Brevard Public Schools can continue investing in protective measures that help keep every school a safe and welcoming place for students to learn.

The Millage renewal supports the technology students and teachers use every day in the classroom. This is not a new tax.

Millage funds focus on modernizing the classroom experience itself. These dollars provide interactive teaching tools such as Promethean boards, classroom audio systems, and other instructional technologies that help teachers deliver engaging, effective lessons.

At Hoover Middle School, updated classroom technology helps students engage with lessons and build real-world digital skills.

Technology changes quickly, and Millage funding ensures our schools can keep pace. When classrooms stay current, students have access to engaging lessons and teachers have reliable tools.

The Sales Surtax renewal is paid for by everyone who shops in Brevard and funds safe, well-maintained schools. This is not a new tax.
It funds secure buildings, facility investments, and technology infrastructure — the physical spaces students learn in every day.

This year at Hoover Middle School, that meant resurfacing the track, to allow Hoover to host track meets and to continue to serve our community running groups.

The Sales Surtax allows Brevard Public Schools to make these needed improvements, ensuring students and staff learn and work in safe, comfortable, and resilient buildings — year after year.

Millage allows Brevard Public Schools to provide teacher salaries that remain competitive with surrounding counties and reflects our commitment to investing in fair, competitive teacher pay.

This is not a new tax. The millage is a renewal of an existing local funding source that helps support teacher salaries and school operations throughout Brevard County.

A portion of millage revenue is dedicated to supporting teacher compensation, helping fund the educators who teach and support students across our district.

Millage is one of the local funding sources that helps Brevard Public Schools invest in its workforce and continue supporting classrooms throughout the county.
