This is Sarina! ๐
Some of you know me, and some of you may not. I'm a CIP student at Central Martial Arts, and over the last several months I've had the privilege of working behind the scenes coordinating our Fourth of July parade float.
First... I think it was a success! ๐ฅ
But I'd love to hear from you.
What did you like? What would you change? What ideas do you have to make next year's float even bigger and better?
Last year we placed in two categories. This year we took home ๐ฅ First Place Overall! (Yes... I'll probably mention that a few more times. ๐)
One thing I've learned is that this wasn't one person's projectโit was a team effort, and I want to recognize some amazing people.
Abby, Beeb, Ethan, Dina, Seth, Ellie, Sensei Shawn, and Tamaraโthank you for everything you did to bring this float to life.
Beeb became our transportation commander, making sure everyone got where they needed to be.
Ethan jumped in and handled the food setup for the after-party.
Tamara went rogue in the absolute best way and made the float look even better by decorating all the little things I forgot.
Kevin from Main Street Tattoo deserves a huge thank you. I came to him with a last-minute idea for the animal panels, and he absolutely exceeded every expectation. Honestly, he finished those incredible animal posters faster than it took us to wrap the PVC poles!
Ms. Sara from West Salem became our unofficial "Elevation Engineer." If it needed to be high up, she was thereโsteady on the ladder and always ready to help.
Evelyn from West Salem was our quiet powerhouse. She was constantly decorating, stepping in wherever needed, helping the kids, and making things happen behind the scenes. I noticed you. โค๏ธ
Mr. Ryan from South Salem helped keep me on track and made sure I was keeping up with the float throughout the parade.
And Christian gets the award for "Crowd Amplifier." He kept the kids engaged, excited, and safe the entire parade.
There are so many others who helpedโparents who volunteered, students who participated, families who cheered us on, neighbors who lent a hand, and anyone I may have accidentally left out. Please know that this ribbon belongs to all of us.
Now it's your turn.
What should we keep? What should we improve? What would you love to see next year?
Because if this year earned us ๐ฅ First Place Overall... I think next year we can make something even more memorable together. โค๏ธ
