Just finished this article regarding the effects of fatigue on police officers..........PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO #9.

Effects of Fatigue on Police Performance
A 2012 study on police officer fatigue revealed the following alarming facts (Basińska & Wiciak, 2012).
Fatigued officers:
1 -Use more sick time.
2-Have difficulty managing successful personal relationships.
3-Have time management issues (reporting for duty on time).
4-Make mistakes on departmental and court paperwork.
5-Tend to sleep on duty (often due to rotating shiftwork).
6-Generate higher rates of citizen complaints for reported misconduct.
7-Tend to have problems communicating with supervisors and have stressful relationships with superiors.
8-Experience more accidental injuries on duty
9-Are at a higher risk of being seriously injured or killed because of lack of focus and not recognizing danger signs.

BOTTOM LINE: GETTING ENOUGH REST IS A PRIORTIY THAT BENEFITS YOU, YOUR DEPARTMENT AND YOUR FAMILY........
