Another tradition we have at Tri-County Inservice is recognizing our annual “Students of Impact.” Students who have demonstrated perseverance, resilience, determination, and growth with the help of their family and school teams are nominated by their providers to be recognized as a “Student of Impact.” This year we are excited to share with you the 7 recipients whose accomplishments serve as a reminder of what is possible when students are supported, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential. Congratulations to these amazing students and their teams!

Since 2012, Tri-County has recognized one licensed educator and one paraprofessional as recipients of the “Kevin J. Shepard Excellence in Education Award”. Receipts of this award have shown commitment to students and families through best practice, leadership, length of service, professionalism, and overall willingness to go the extra mile. This year’s licensed teacher is one of our amazing Early Childhood teachers, Amy Barnhart, and our paraprofessional is the fantastic Carolyn Garman, paraprofessional at Jefferson Elementary in Independence. Congratulations and well deserved!

Tri-County hosted a Summer Institute on Structured Teaching for 3 days in July. Professional learning to support all students is our priority. Shoutout to the following: Jillian Brock, Tri-County's low incidence instructional coach, Lisa Holt, TASN's regional autism consultant, our teachers for learning in the summer, parents for letting us borrow your children for a few summer days, and USD446 and their custodial crew and food service for making this a positive setting for our teachers and students.

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, students from Field Kindley High School were honored during the Memorial Ceremony at Restlawn Cemetery. Cooper Hall, also a Tri-County 607 student in Mrs Thia’s class, was one of the students who received an Outstanding Volunteer Award. This recognition was presented for his hard work and dedication in helping clean and prepare the cemetery for the Memorial Day service. His efforts demonstrated respect, community pride, and appreciation for the veterans and families honored during the ceremony. We are incredibly proud of Cooper for giving back to the community through service and helping ensure the cemetery was ready for this meaningful day of remembrance. Way to go Cooper!
