We had a pretty exciting kickoff to the 5th Grade President Project today! 🇺🇸 Our mayor came to talk to our 5th graders about what it means to be a good leader and what qualities make a great leader.

Now it’s our students’ turn! They’ll research leadership, create campaigns, and run for President & Vice President of their classroom. Eventually, we’ll have a 5th grade-wide election for our 5th Grade President & Vice President! 🗳️🇺🇸

🎶 A Little Music, A Lot of Learning! 🎶

Our Bulldogs had fun singing greetings in three different languages during Music! It was a fun way to learn that there are many different ways to say hello and welcome someone. 🧡🖤

We love watching our students learn about the world through music! 🐾🎵

🧡🖤 Happy First Day, Jefferson Family! 🖤🧡

We had a PERFECT first day! 🐾 Our halls were filled with smiles, learning, laughter, and so much Bulldog spirit!

We are incredibly thankful for the support of the Independence-USD 446 Foundation. Thank you for supporting the students of our district. 🧡🖤🐾

The Independence-USD 446 Educational Foundation was pleased to hand out more than $8,400 at the district's Opening Convocation to kick off the 2026-27 school year!

Each year the Foundation provides a "per student" allotment stipend to each school, based on the building's enrollment. This year a total of $5,827.50 was distributed in the following manner:

Early Learning Center = $437.50
Eisenhower = $1,018.50
Jefferson = $1,277.50
IMS = $1,326.50
IHS = $1,767.50

In addition, the Connie B***r Scholarship Fund calls for a $200 grant to be provided to each of the classes in the 2nd and 3rd grades, as per her wishes. Thus, Eisenhower School received $1,200 to be divided among six classes, and Jefferson School received $1,400 to be split among seven classes.

Please consider supporting the Foundation so we can continue to make gifts such as these possible!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing ICC athletes for being here to welcome our Bulldogs with high fives, smiles, and so much spirit! 🙌

And thank you to Mr. Barker and Mrs. Rutledge from our Board of Education for helping us make the morning extra special!
