Hi All! Just a reminder that tryouts are Monday, November 17 through Thursday, November 20, from 5-7 pm.
Tryouts are located at the Simon Kenton fieldhouse, which is located behind the football stadium, next to the tennis courts and softball field.
Please have your physicals added to arbiter.io or you will not be able to participate.

Information for the 2025/2026 Archery Season

Tryouts : Monday November 17 through November 20th, 5-7 pm.

There will be an informational meeting November 5th from 6-7 pm in the SK library to go over the season and any questions you may have.

Please complete your physical and upload on Arbiter Registration before you come to try-outs!

Interested in trying out for archery and continuing to build our empire? Simon Kenton will host archery try-outs in November with our official season starting in December. More information will be sent out via Arbiter sports. Make sure to sign your archer up in Arbiter and complete their physical before tryouts start.

Tryouts will be open to all high schoolers whose home base is Simon Kenton. 8th graders from Twenhofel and Summit View who will be attending Simon Kenton will also be allowed to try out.

Simon Kenton Girls competed at the KHSAA State Tournament April 17th. It wasn't the day we had planned for, but big tournaments like this rarely go the way you hope. Regardless of our score, we are so incredibly proud of our girls. Three of our seniors shot the last arrows of their career so it was an emotional day for us.

Archery is one of those unique sports that seems to go on forever. It's daunting at times, but we get to know our archers very well, privy to their excitement at the beginning as well as the emotional close of each season. This is my second year as head coach of the Simon Kenton archery team and it's like an entire new year of firsts. We have to say goodbye to six seniors this year; six kids that we got to watch grow into leaders. We welcomed a new assistant coach (Josh) and said goodbye to our other assistant coach (AJ). I've cried so many happy tears this year watching our kids move past hardships and succeed beyond their goals both as individuals and as a team. Our 2024/2025 season is done and as difficult as it is to accept that, getting to look back on how far we've come is more than worth it.

Thank you to the archers, parents and SK Athletic program that made this season possible and FUN! What a whirlwind!

Girls Region 6 Champions!

I’m glad they don’t have video because I was a mess. Our girls performed spectacular this year; Annabeth McCarty was first girl overall and Nyla McIntosh was 4th girl overall. One of our boys, Grayson Runion, will be competing as an individual at KHSAA state.

We will be competing at state April 17th along with Ryle girls. Good luck to all!

The Ryle boys won a sixth straight region archery title while the Simon Kenton girls got the title back on their side.

Simon Kenton participated in NASP Kentucky State tournament and placed 44th amongst high school teams. Three of our archers shot their personal best, with two shooting a 50.

We will be hosting the Region 6 KHSAA girls and boys regional archery tournament this Saturday. If any seniors or high schoolers need volunteer hours, we would love to have some help! Please message me. Even a couple of hours would be appreciated.

Simon Kenton hosted our first state qualifier tournament in six years this past weekend. I wish I had a more verbose spread of words, but these will do - we have an amazing group of archers, parents, school, and support system. This tournament ran smoothly because of great parents and volunteers who were willing to give up their weekend (and many preceding days) to ensure this happened.

Ryle received first overall team (amazing coaches and archers - so glad we got to shoot with them!!) and Simon Kenton got second overall team. Lexus Goff, Scott High School, received best overall archer. My archers shot incredible and I’m so proud of them!

A lot of our archers achieved their personal best, shot lots of 50’s and really dialed it in. Emily Paul, Theresa Henegar, Cora Mehltretter, and Maya Riess were in the top five girls and Grayson Runion was in top five boys.

Our seniors were honored before awards, accompanied by their families. This was truly special and an emotional moment - our seniors are the best!!

Coach AJ, Coach Josh and Coach Megan are thankful for the help and happy with the results! Thank you to all the teams that participated. We look forward to the next one!
