Today, we celebrate our amazing Mater Dolorosa Catholic School Cross Country athletes for a job well done in their races! ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ‘
Cross Country is about more than just crossing the finish line. It takes discipline, perseverance, courage, teamwork, and faithโ€”virtues that help our students grow both on the course and in life. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ช
Every mile, every hill, and every finish is a testimony to what can happen when we keep moving forward, trust in God, and never give up! โœจ
We are so proud of our runners for representing Mater Dolorosa with determination, sportsmanship, and Eagle pride! ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ’™
Keep running the race with faith and purpose!

๐Ÿ”ข๐Ÿ’™ MATH MONDAY! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ”ข
Itโ€™s Math Monday at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School! ๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ
Our 3rd grade mathematicians are diving into multiplication by learning how arrays show equal groups in rows and columns! โž•โœ–๏ธ Students are using visual models to see how multiplication represents equal groups and to make those multiplication facts easier to understand.
By exploring patterns, building arrays, and solving problems, our students are growing in critical thinking, perseverance, and problem-solvingโ€”skills they can use both inside and outside the classroom! ๐Ÿง โœจ
We are grateful for the opportunity to help our students recognize the order, patterns, and beauty of Godโ€™s creation through mathematics. ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ™โœ๏ธ Religious Sunday โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™
This week, our 2nd grade students took a beautiful moment to slow down, pray, and spend time in Adoration, bringing their personal intentions and thanksgiving before Jesus. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธโค๏ธ
What a blessing it is to watch our students learn that prayer is not just something we doโ€”it is how we grow closer to God, express our gratitude, and place our hopes and worries in His loving hands. ๐Ÿ™โœจ
At Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, we strive to nurture not only the minds of our students, but also their hearts and souls. Through moments of prayer and reflection, our children are learning to recognize Godโ€™s presence in their everyday lives and to share His love with others.
As we continue to grow in faith, may our students always remember our school motto:
โ€œEnter to Learn. Exit to Serve God.โ€ ๐Ÿ’™โœ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ…
What a beautiful reminder that everything we learn is ultimately a gift from Godโ€”and we are called to use those gifts in service to Him and others. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Student Saturday:

โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š Testing with a Little Comfort & Faith! โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
Our 2nd graders are working hard on their i-Ready testing, and as their teacher, Iโ€™ve learned something important: sometimes students do their best thinking when they feel comfortable, relaxed, and supported. โ˜บ๏ธ
So, during testing, I let them find a cozy nook, sit somewhere comfortable, or even stretch out near their desk while they work. Weโ€™re creating a calm environment where they can focus, take their time, and show what they know. ๐Ÿง โœจ
I remind my students that a test is simply an opportunity to show their growth and the gifts God has given them. We pray, we encourage one another, and then we do our very best. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ
At Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, we believe education is about nurturing the whole childโ€”mind, body, and spirit. We want our students to know that their worth is not measured by a test score. They are wonderfully made by God, and every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and become the person God is calling them to be. โœ๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ
Our students will SOAR: Successful, Outstanding. Amazing, and Respectful ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ…

๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ™ Faith Filled Friday: Growing in Faith & in the Garden! ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฅ•
Our Mater Dolorosa Catholic School Garden Club is getting ready to plant our fall crop! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ… Students meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday to learn, grow, and care for Godโ€™s creation.
Just as a tiny seed needs good soil, water, sunlight, and patience to grow into something that provides nourishment, our students need faith, knowledge, guidance, and love to grow into the people God calls them to be. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ
Through Garden Club, our students are learning that growth takes time, care, teamwork, and perseveranceโ€”lessons that extend far beyond the garden. As we nurture plants and prepare food to nourish others, we are reminded of our mission at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School: to educate the whole child in faith, knowledge, and service.
๐ŸŒฑ Planting seeds.
๐Ÿ’š Growing in faith.
๐Ÿฅ• Nourishing others.
๐Ÿ™ Serving God and our community.
May our fall gardenโ€”and our studentsโ€”continue to grow strong roots in faith and bear good fruit! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ”ฌ Science Class Just Got Sweet! ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฌ
Our 7th graders put their critical thinking and observation skills to the test as they explored taxonomy and classification using different types of candy! ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿงช
Using a dichotomous key, students worked to identify and classify their candy โ€œspecimensโ€ while learning how scientists organize and name living things. They even created their own scientific names for each candy specimenโ€”proving that science can be both educational and delicious! ๐Ÿ˜‹
Beyond the science, this activity gave our students an opportunity to practice important Catholic virtues: wisdom as they learned, prudence as they made careful observations and decisions, perseverance as they worked through each classification challenge, and charity as they encouraged and supported one another. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™
At Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, we believe learning is about more than gaining knowledgeโ€”itโ€™s about using our God-given gifts with faith, curiosity, responsibility, and love of neighbor. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š
๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ”ฌ Faith, learning, and a little sweetness make science even better!

Learning from the Past to Understand the Present ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ
Our students are making history come alive in Social Studies! ๐ŸŒŽ
As they learn about nomadic hunter-gatherer societies, students are comparing how people lived, worked, traveled, found food, and built communities long ago with the way we live today. Through musical shares, our students are using creativity and teamwork to demonstrate what they have learned while making meaningful connections to modern life. ๐ŸŽต๐Ÿ•๏ธโžก๏ธ๐Ÿ
At Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, learning goes beyond memorizing facts. We encourage our students to see how God has given people throughout history the gifts of intelligence, creativity, cooperation, and stewardship. As we study the past, we can better appreciate the blessings and responsibilities we have today.
We are proud to see our students learning, sharing, and growing in both knowledge and faith! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค
Our students are learning to SOAR:
Successful! Outstanding! Amazing! Respectful!

๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐Ÿก Building Faith, Teamwork & Science at MDCS! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ—๏ธ
Our 4th, 6th, and 8th Grade Science students put their creativity, problem-solving skills, and engineering minds to work with a fun Marshmallow Tower Challenge! ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ“
Students worked together to design and build towers using marshmallows and other simple materials, learning about engineering, stability, structure, balance, and the importance of testing and revising their designs. ๐Ÿ’ก
But the lesson went beyond science! โœ๏ธโค๏ธ Students practiced important Christian values along the wayโ€”teamwork, patience, perseverance, respect, encouragement, and using the gifts God has given each of us.
Just like a strong tower needs a solid foundation, our students are reminded that a strong life is built on a foundation of faith, love, and trust in God. ๐Ÿ™
We are proud of our young scientists and engineers for learning, creating, collaborating, and having fun while putting their faith into action! ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ’™
Keep building, Eaglesโ€”both your towers and your faith! ๐Ÿ—๏ธโœ๏ธ
