Lupe's future plans include serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and earning a degree in aviation.

Last month, members from our Midwest Chapter participated virtually in the Miniature Golf Tournament Benefitting NPIEN's Annual Sustaining Membership and Scholarship Fund.

Teams representing William Chrisman and Fort Osage participated and won prizes. ⛳🏌🏾

NPIEN Midwest's Board was fortunate enough to be represented at this year's Diplomatic Ball hosted by the Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City. Aunty Lupe Moe actively supports and participates in the Annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival each August--even though it means spending her birthday in the hot sun. Mayor Quinton Lucas was excited to meet her tonight!

SCHOLARSHIP ALERT:

Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) Scholarship

$2,500-$15,000 scholarships for Asian and/or Pacific Islander students. Students must be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia or the Republic of Palau. Requires a 2.7 GPA, short answer responses/essay, letter of recommendations, and FAFSA application. There are two scholarships, one general scholarship, and one specifically for students attending an AANAPISI college. Students can apply for both scholarships at the same time.

Deadlines: November (AANAPISI) and January (general)

NPIEN’s Midwest Chapter is pleased to recognize senior students OLIVIA TALI & PATSO TAPUSOA as recipients of NPIEN’s 2020 Christina Diaz Scholar Award.

They were awarded separate honors based on their GPA, attendance, academic honors, extracurricular activities, leadership, and service.

Olivia was nominated by William Chrisman High School Counselor, Ms. Sarah Swartz.

Patso was nominated by Blue Springs High School Assistant Principal, Dr. Wendell Fuimaono.
