FUN OPEN EVENT for Captains and 2 students to fish together as a 3-person team! This event is hosted by the Cedar Falls Fishing Team and Directed by Mike Kelly. Here is the information I have as of now:

What: Boat captains and anglers will fish TOGETHER in this fun event. This will be a 6 man format - 2 teams of 3 will fish together for a 10 fish limit. You will sign up with your preferred boat team (2 anglers and 1 captain) and then 2 boat teams will be paired together randomly on Wednesday evening. FREE Entry. Prizes for top teams and Big Bass.

When: Sunday, October 4th (630a-3p) at the Mississippi River Pool 10 - Guttenberg (Bussey Lake Ramp) Random team draw will take place on Wednesday evening, September 30th - deadline to sign up is Wednesday by 11:00am.

2026 Virtual Tournament, who can catch the 3 longest bass in the last week of summer break???
Here is an example of an entry that should be sent to Coach Reed. It includes a bass that has an easily read ruler in the picture that includes the special code. (2026 CODE will be released tomorrow at 8am)

As always, take a friend fishing, tell an adult when and where you will be fishing, and have fun!

The 2026 VIRTUAL Tournament starts TOMORROW!!! This is open to anyone in Grades K-12 in Independence. The "SECRET CODE" will be released tomorrow at 8am on our social medias and the BandApp.

A few reminders to make this a fair contest:
1- Three things must be in each photo: Tape Measure/Bass/CODE

The Indee Bass Club traveled to Pool 9 of the Mississippi River yesterday to compete in the 5th annual Eastern Iowa Bass Club Battle. Cedar Falls Fishing Team, Prairie Fishing Team, and Indee anglers battled it out on a beautiful day on the river. There were 18 teams involved in this event which was hosted by the Cedar Falls Fishing Team.
šŸ„ˆThe Indee Bass Club finished 2nd in the team competition, behind the Champions, the CR Prairie Fishing Team. The Team competition takes the top 3 teams from each club for a team total. The top three teams from Indee included:
Landon Putbrese/Keegan King: 4th overall with 10.38 #
Will Clark/Aiden Svoboda: 6th overall with 8.16 #
Zayne Malek/Andrew Lewin: 8th overall with 5.20 #
šŸ“£3 TEAMS in the top 8, way to go INDEE!!!
šŸ…BIG BASS of the tournament went to Landen Putbrese with a nice 3.18 # Largemouth Bass!
Great representation anglers on a tough day of fishing on the Big River.

This event was also part of the Indee Bass Team Trail, a special trail that allows a team from the club to get an invitation to the TBF National Tournament in 2027. Here are those results:
Indee TBF Trail:
1st- Putbrese/King 10.38 #
2nd- Clark/Svoboda 8.16 #
3rd- Malek/Lewin 5.20 #
4th- Cameron/Beatty 4.48 #
5th- Roth/Farrenkopf 3.21 #

Ranger Reed ended his long Bass Club career earlier this month at the July tournament. Ranger has been a club member since 7th grade and has participated in 28 club events. Congratulations to Ranger Reed on setting not one, but two records in the Indee Bass Club! Best of luck to you on the water as you continue your love of fishing.
