Check this one off Ms. Lisa's bucket list - I got to operate the trash truck at West Platte Elementary's Touch-a-Truck event tonight in Weston!

This was my dream job as a tiny tot and am over the moon that I finally got to run this amazing machine.

Now back to my regularly scheduled Rocket driving instead. It's a pretty cool job too! 🚀

Today is National Collect Rocks Day and what a perfect time explore the outdoors, discover and collect rocks, and learn about Earth's geology.

Recently, the Rocketeers spent time with visitors collecting and creating Kindness Rocks to leave around our communities for friends like you to find. This is a fun and simple activity you could enjoy with your family as the weather gets nicer.

This week is Food for Fines at the Library!

To date, Mid-Continent Public Library has collected more than 195,000 food items for local charities and food pantries through our bi-annual Food for Fines program!

Bring boxed or canned nonperishable food items to any MCPL location to pay off your overdue fines and help out your local community. Each single food item will count as $1.50 off existing overdue fines or replacement card charges, up to $30. You are also welcome to donate items even if you do not have any library fines.

Happy Labor Day, friends!

Since 1894, the United States has set aside the first Monday in September to honor our country's labor force, and we want to say thank you for all you do!

The Library is closed today, so your Rocketeers will be taking a rest and celebrating the unofficial end of summer. We will be back to our regularly scheduled visits tomorrow, but in the meantime, we say cheers!
