Congratulations to IHS Senior Penny Averre on being accepted into the 2027 Ohio All-State Choir! Along with hundreds of other students across the state, she submitted auditions in May, which went through a blind screening process to be selected. She joins other singers from across the state in regional rehearsals throughout the fall, culminating in a performance at the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference in Columbus in late January 2027. Penny was also selected for the 2026 Ohio All-State Choir. This marks a first for an Independence student to be selected to the All-State Choir two consecutive years.
