Indian Trails Elementary Indian Trails Elementary School in the Fort Osage School district is home of the Scouts! To keep our page focused, we have set some comment guidelines.

te comments not related to the subject of the page entries.

- Spam. Comments focused on selling a product or service will not be posted.

-Inaccurate. Posts that include misinformation will be removed.

- Personal Attacks. If you disagree with a post, we'd like to hear from you. We do ask that you refrain from personal attacks or being disrespectful of others.

- Illegal. Laws that govern use of copyrights, trade secrets, etc., will be followed.

- Language. Comments including but not limited to: profane or provocative language, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive or derogatory content, threats, obscene or sexually explicit language will be deleted. The moderator also deletes news items that are out-of-date or no longer timely.

The Indian Trails staff has spent the week preparing for the 2026-27 school year. We ended the week by having a little fun participating in our 2nd annual Adult Field Day! Needless to say, we had many laughs and a lot of fun! It was a great way to celebrate our hard work!

Welcome to Indian Trails Elementary and to the 2026-2027 school year! I am Avanti McDowell, the Principal at Indian Trails. I am excited to begin a new school year with you!

In an effort to keep everyone informed, I plan to send our families a daily email leading up to the first day of school. Each day, the email will include a piece of important information from our Family Information Guide.

Enrollment Reminders
Don't wait! Students will not receive teacher assignments or class schedules until enrollment is approved, and they cannot begin school on August 25 until the process is complete.

Before you begin, make sure you have:
-Parent Portal username and password
-Proof of residency
-Updated contact information
-Updated immunization and health information
-All 2025-2026 obligations paid (or a payment plan established)

School Event Calendar
After-school family events are of high priority at Indian Trails Elementary. We value this time where the families of our students can gather at Indian Trails and participate in a shared experience.

All school events will be communicated through various methods: email, text, classroom newsletter, Indian Trails webpage, and the weekly Scout Scoop (weekly newsletter from the principal).
