AKKA Karate USA - Independence is part of Kansas City's largest professional martial arts organization and has been serving the Independence, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit and Raytown areas for over 25 years. We specialize in traditional martial arts instruction (Kenpo Karate), Self Defense, Fitness, Stress Relief, Character Development, Bully Prevention and Conflict Resolution and base our programs

on the traditional values of Honest, Courtesy, Respect and Discipline. Our professional staff is honored and devoted to the process of providing positive individual attention to all of our students and supporting them in achieving their goals. We further pledge to maintain a safe, clean and family friendly training environment to enable our students to become Stronger, Healthier and more Confident. We offer the finest in martial arts instruction for children and adults. We are a highly motivated and goal oriented professional martial arts organization. 🔔 What happens after the bell rings?

School may be out for the day.

But that doesn’t mean the learning has to stop.

After school, kids have hours of time competing for their attention—screens, games, homework, activities and everything else that comes with a busy school year.

Karate gives them something different.

A place to move their bodies.

A place to challenge themselves.

A place to build focus, confidence and discipline.

And a place where the lessons they learn can follow them long after they leave the mat.

The school bell may end the school day.

We all want our kids to do well in school.

But someday, their report card won’t tell the whole story of who they’ve become.
