Thank You in advance for supporting items to replenish the Hygiene Closet at Grayson County High School for the upcoming school year.

This closet will serve students in grades 8-12. The Grayson FCCLA chapter will be sponsoring the hygiene closet and we look forward to receiving donations. We appreciate your continued support !

Arson Williams Burnett represented the State of Virginia in the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist Excel Competition held at the Ga***rd Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN this week! Congratulations, Arson!

Blue Devil Sweet Treats is a joint venture between the Work Awareness & Transitions Class at GCHS and Culinary Arts classes from the CATE Center.

The student run project allows students to plan menus, take orders, prepare breakfast treats and make deliveries to faculty and staff. Profits are used to support student projects and provide an annual GCHS Enterprise Scholarship to a deserving student.

Through this project students are gaining valuable skills and work experience and we appreciate all those that have supported our students’ with your encouragement and generosity!

Congratulations to the newest Culinary Arts students to earn their ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification! Managed by the National Restaurant Association, this credential verifies a level of food safety knowledge required to protect the public from foodborne illness.

Culinary Arts classes enjoyed a visit from the Grayson County Agriculture and Economic Development and 4-H agents. Through the process of making homemade strawberry jam, students learned about food safety, and food preservation, as well the financial and business decisions involved in food based entrepreneurship.

The winners of the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist Virginia State Championship Spring Qualifier have been announced. Grayson County High School students won multiple state placements.

Winning 1st Place - Arson Williams-Burnett - Microsoft Excel (Office 2019)

Winning 2nd Place - Dennis McGovern - Microsoft PowerPoint (Office 2019)

Winning 4th place - Kassidy Horton - Microsoft Excel (Office 2019)

Winning 5th Place - Asia Hill - Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps)

Winning 6th Place - Bo Anders - Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps)

Winning 8th Place - Kassidy Horton - Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps)

Named an Outstanding Educator – Mrs. Sharon Reeves, Business and Information Technology Instructor.

These students competed against students from across the State of Virginia to earn this coveted placement. The title ‘Microsoft Office Specialist Champion’ will serve these students well in their academic and career pursuits.

Arson Williams-Burnett will represent the state of Virginia in the National competition in Nashville Tennessee in June.

Congratulations to all these Blue Devils.

The GC CATE Carpentry Class would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets for the Hinting Blind that was built and raffled off.

The ticket sales will go a long way in supporting the class. We would like to congratulate Sebastian Goss who is the new proud owner of the hunting blind.

GC Cate Greenhouse will be open for their annual plant sale this Friday 9 am - 4 pm and Saturday 9 am - 1 pm.

Our horticulture students have been working hard since February on these plants. Come out this weekend for all your plant needs.
