SNU Outdoor Adventure Leadership Program Our laboratories for testing knowledge are the granite walls, snowcapped peaks and deep river gorges of the Sierra Nevada.

ODAL is an INTERDISCIPLINARY major that provides students with the technical, environmental, social, facilitation, problem solving, decision making and ethical skills necessary to engage themselves and others in helping create a sustainable future! Sierra Nevada College's Outdoor Adventure Leadership (ODAL) Program is designed for those adventuresome spirits that wish to squeeze the most out of th

eir educational journey. The SNC ODAL Program is an INTERDISCIPLINARY major that provides students with the technical skills, the environmental skills, the interpersonal/intrapersonal skills, the facilitation skills, the problem solving skills, the decision making skills and the professional ethics necessary to engage themselves and others in helping to create a more sustainable future! WE USE NATURE, ADVENTURE, and COMMUNITY to LEARN!

2021 ODAL Graduate Highlight
Kara was an Interdisciplinary Major in Environmental Science and Outdoor Adventure Leadership. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and supa d**a involved in the Whitewater Club. Kara says, “My time at SNU has been instrumental in growing my passions for protecting rivers. I feel more motivated than ever and I’m super excited for what’s to come.” She is currently a raft guide in the Kern River and have plans to guide the Rogue River in Oregon and then the Gauley River in West Virginia. Looks forward to landing in White Salmon, WA to paddle her little heart away.

Lauren majored in Biology and Creative writing with a minor in Outdoor Adventure Leadership. She was Summa Cum Laude, she was the Sustainability Chair and Vice President of the SGA, and President of the Writing Club. She says, “SNU introduced to me to outdoor recreation and I will be forever grateful for my lifelong friends!” Lauren will be spending the summer in Lake Tahoe and attending graduate school for screenwriting this fall.
