I'd like to give a special thanks to the volunteers that stood by my side and worked hard throughout the election and on election day.

Thanks mom, for having my back. For standing in the cold rain and for your wonderful editing critiques. It was good to get other perspectives on all of the interviews I had to complete.

Thank you to my husband, Chad Meece. He designed my signs and helped me in various ways for months from putting up signs to supporting me when the loud left threatened me and tore me down.

A very special thank you, Susie Kay. She helped me research rules, registration dates, all my editing, showed up to every event, helped gather resources, sponsored my flyers, develop social media campaigns, made posters, fielded negative comments just as I did. She was my rock and I appreciate the countless hours she dedicated to this. Together, we ran a respectful campaign!

We received almost 800 votes, first time in an election and only spent around $200. We did this with a handful of awesome volunteers. Our competition spent THOUSANDS of dollars each and had armies of teachers and unions knocking on doors. You should feel accomplished! We got our message out!

This mornings devotional was spot on. Jesus cautions us from getting too excited from visible results, sometimes we don't see immediate fruitfulness or sudden results from our work. We're to labor in and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). We'll be discouraged if we don't.

Don't give up. We fought hard to keep our schools great. While we didn't win, there is still a lesson here to learn.

I entered into this race based on convictions and sought to follow God’s will which I have done. I have been fully aware that His will did not necessarily mean I would win a seat on the board. I do not know what seeds He has planted along the way, and I know that He works all things for His good.

As I have said, while I do not know His will, I trust it. I will now pray that His will continue to be done in our schools and our community.

God bless you, and thank you to those who worked so hard to support my campaign! I am grateful beyond words! We got close with 17 signs and word of mouth. Nice work!!
