MS Boys Basketball Update - 6th Grade

Due to the continuing, positive growth of participating numbers in MS Boys Basketball, and the results of an evaluation conducted, focusing on projected numbers for the 2026-27 season, it has been determined to NOT have 6th grade boys dress up for 7th grade basketball for the 2026-27 basketball season.
As such, the SV Youth Basketball program has agreed to have a standalone 6th grade season for those interested in playing basketball this 26-27 school year (see below).

Moving forward, participating numbers will be evaluated each year to make a determination regarding 6th graders dressing for 7th grade basketball for the following year's basketball season.

Sports Physicals - Reminder

Just a reminder that if you are playing sports in the summer/fall (HS Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Boys Soccer, MS Baseball, Softball, Cross Country, Girls Basketball), you MUST have an updated school/sports physical on file with the school office.

If you are needing to submit a sports physical to the school and are not able to get to the office, you may scan and send to [email protected]

MS Baseball - Transportation Reminder

Transportation will be provided for players to and from practices and games for MS Baseball.

On Monday, the SV bus will pick up in Niantic (HS) at 3:00pm and pick up in Illiopolis (MS) around 3:10pm on the way to Tri-City. After practice, the bus will drop players off in Illiopolis and Niantic.

TCSVMP Softball - Schedule Update(s)

Practices start Monday, July 27. See times below.
All practices will have transportation provided by Sangamon Valley. Buses will depart from Niantic 30 minutes prior to practice start time, and pick up in Illiopolis on the way. SV bus will return players after practice.

There will be a parent meeting at 5:30 on Tuesday, the 28th @ 5:30pm.
REMINDER: Players must have UPDATED physicals on file with the player's HOME school office!

We are excited to have Mrs. Clem start her teaching career with us and supporting our students!💙

If you recall, Mrs. Clem (Monica - 3rd Grade) recently retired! Her legacy at SV will carry on in many ways. One in which is Mrs. Clem 2.0! Mrs. Clem (Zoey) served as the Diabetic Care Aid and Cross Cat Teaching Assistant at SVI while she was attending classes at ISU in the evening. She completed her degree and was hired as a teacher at SVMS! She will have her own classroom to continue to support the students she worked with at SVI! We are thankful for the support of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association (IRTA). They recently awarded her with a grant to support furnishing her new classroom!
