Idyllwild School is proud to recognize Nutrition Manager Sonya Dravenstatt as an Employee of Excellence!

For 25 years, Idyllwild School Nutrition Manager Sonya Dravenstatt has been a heart and soul pillar of our school community. Known affectionately by students as "the lunch lady," Sonya brings warmth, a bright smile, and an infectious positive energy to the cafeteria every single day.

Her commitment to our school extends far beyond meal service—she has served on the Wellness Committee and was an active PTA member, always advocating for the well-being and happiness of our kids. A true team player with an exceptional work ethic, Sonya consistently earns the highest ratings on kitchen inspections while keeping her environment welcoming, safe, and fun.

We are deeply grateful for her hard work, her unwavering dedication, and the genuine love she shows our students each and every day. Sonya truly embodies what it means to be an Employee of Excellence!

William Brean, this young man is such a pleasure to have in Room 8! He shows up every day with a huge smile on his face, ready to tackle the day ahead. His excitement for learning is truly contagious. Keep up the wonderful work Liam!

Hannah Sarty, Hannah is a breath of fresh air. She is polite, kind to others, and always gives 100% to her academics. I can always trust that she will follow directions and come prepared every day. She is a stellar role model for everyone in Room 8!

Esme Mapel is a wonderful 4th-grade student in Mr. Dillon’s class at Idyllwild School who consistently brightens the school community with her kindness, creativity, and cheerfulness. She is a dedicated and helpful student who approaches her studies with enthusiasm and a positive attitude every day.
At home, Esme loves spending quality time in the kitchen creating special treats, especially making delicious avocado smoothies with her mom. She also enjoys piecing together challenging puzzles, getting lost in a good book, and crafting her own imaginative stories.
Her true artistic spirit shines through in her love for art, where she especially enjoys drawing detailed landscapes and serene forest scenes. Fueled by her passion for creativity, Esme dreams of becoming a professional artist when she grows up.
In the classroom, Esme serves as an exceptional role model for her peers. Her cheerful personality, helpful nature, and stellar work ethic make her a true joy to have at Idyllwild School. Esme’s creativity, kindness, and dedication make her a fantastic representative of her school, and we are honored to have her lead us in the Pledge tonight.

Idyllwild School is proud to nominate Claudia Posey, the Learning Improvement Site Support Specialist at Idyllwild School, for the Good Apple Award!
Claudia truly embodies our vision to Embrace, Educate, and Empower every student, every day. Her leadership, creativity, and commitment to the Idyllwild community drove extraordinary academic progress this past school year. Partnering closely with administration and the Site Leadership Team, Claudia spearheaded schoolwide initiatives like Building Thinking Classrooms, visible data in classrooms, increasing student voice, and guided teachers through data-driven PDSA cycles to refine daily instruction.
The results speak for themselves: middle school students reading at or above grade level jumped from 57% to nearly 74%, and elementary literacy surged from 40% to nearly 69%!
Claudia’s passion for student success and high-performing teams sets the standard. Thank you for your tireless dedication to Idyllwild School and Hemet Unified School District.

We had a fun Pep Rally yesterday to kick off our Girl's Volleyball Season. Thank you to our Staff, and to Rocky our mascot!! We are starting the season off strong. Go Mountain Lions!!
