Painting at and wedding felt like a dream.

It was the first time I traveled because of my art (though it wasn’t far, just Boise). I just kept feeling like, “How is this my life?!”. I feel so proud of myself for perusing art all these years. I’ve had to be diligent in making time for art through motherhood. And just look at how it’s paid off! I feel so lucky to be doing what I love.

Benefits of “oiling out” your painting:

- easier to achieve soft edges on an already dry painting
- deepens your darks so you can see how they will look after being varnished
- helps paint adhere to your canvas
- paint glides on smoothly and makes your mixtures automatically less stiff
- brightens colors and removes that dusty sheen while you work

This painting was a fun challenge because I was able to paint the couple from life but had to freehand the temple in the back.

I literally had a photo of them and ripped it out to put in front of a printed photo of the temple and that was my reference. gotta do what you gotta do.
