Mrs. Beth Fuchser teaches Kindergarten and brings a joyful love of learning into her classroom every day. She especially loves the curiosity and creativity of kindergarteners and enjoys watching their excitement as they discover something new and those “lightbulb moments” begin to shine. Mrs. Fuchser strives to create a warm and welcoming classroom by greeting each child by name every morning. Her goal for her students is to grow in virtue, become confident readers, and truly enjoy learning. She encourages her students to “Be kind, joyful, and curious!”

Ms. Sherri Arnone-Wheat is a 1st grade teacher who finds great joy in being a trusted adult in her students’ lives and watching them discover the wonder of the world around them. A lifelong lover of reading, she shares that passion through beloved stories like Leo the Late Bloomer, Skippyjon Jones, Fancy Nancy, and The Mitten by Jan Brett. Her classroom is a warm and inviting space where students are greeted each day with a smile, and a sense of belonging. She celebrates student success both individually and as a class, encouraging growth, effort, and virtue along the way. Her advice to students is simple but powerful: keep trying, be patient, and never give up—you’ve got this!

Mrs. Katie Candalino teaches second grade students math, reading, writing, science, social studies, and sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion. She loves sharing her favorite things to learn—from cool facts to neat math tricks—and enjoys learning right alongside her students each day. A lifelong reader, her favorite books to share are stories by Tomie dePaola, especially his saint and liturgical stories. Inspired by the words of Thérèse of Lisieux, Mrs. Candalino encourages her students to persevere with kindness, faith, and confidence in themselves. Mrs. Candalino loves celebrating student success with encouraging notes and joyful class shout-outs.

Mr. Kade Schmalz is a 3rd grade teacher in his third year of teaching, passionate about helping students learn, grow, and enjoy the classroom experience. He especially loves seeing his students have fun while grasping new concepts, fostering both curiosity and confidence in their abilities. With a personal love for history, as well as reading and science, he brings a well-rounded enthusiasm for learning into his teaching. His goal is for every student to grow in virtue, reach their full potential, and remember that learning is a lifelong journey. He strives to live by the message of 1 Corinthians 13—doing all things with love—which is reflected in the way he treats and supports his students each day.

Mrs. Tara Drexler teaches primarily 4th grade, and finds her greatest joy in working with her students—knowing she gets to “touch the future” every day. With a love for math and reading, she brings enthusiasm into the classroom.
Her classroom is a calm, cozy space with soft lighting, soothing tones, and touches of nature to help students feel at ease and ready to learn.
Mrs. Drexler celebrates student success in creative and memorable ways, always tailoring recognition to the individual. Her advice to students is both empowering and practical: you are in control of your actions—your feelings are valid, but how you respond is up to you, so take ownership and grow from every experience.

Thank you Chick-fil-A Ammon and all HRCS families who provided lunch today!

Mrs. Alicia Chavez teaches Preschool and Pre-K, where her classroom is filled with letters, numbers, faith, and plenty of fun. She loves watching her students be curious, silly, and joyful while growing in confidence and kindness. A fan of art and music, Mrs. Chavez enjoys creating and singing, and she brings that creativity into her teaching every day. She especially loves Mo Willems’ Pigeon books for their humor and interaction, and she lives by the encouraging words of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Mrs. Maggie Mesina teaches 5th grade, where she finds the greatest joy in watching students light up as they grasp new ideas and skills. Her love of learning began early with a passion for math and later grew into an appreciation for history. She works hard to create a welcoming classroom where every student feels a sense of belonging, like part of a family. Guided by the quote by St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, “We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love,” she brings care and purpose into her classroom each day.
