Skyline High School, Class of 2003

Skyline High School, Class of 2003 Skyline High School is a senior high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Skyline was the second high school built in Idaho Falls. It was named after Skyline Drive.

The Skyline classes of 1967 and 1968 were both originally part of Idaho Falls High School and attended their sophomore years in the old Central School Building (the original Idaho Falls High School building). Skyline High School was created in the fall of 1966. However, due to incomplete construction, neither of the first two graduating classes (1967 or 1968) actually attended classes at the high

school. Those students attended split sessions at the Idaho Falls High School during both the 1966-1967 and 1967-1968 school years. Idaho Falls High School students attended school in the morning, and Skyline High School Students attended in the afternoon. The Class of 1969 was the first to attend and graduate from the new building. The first principal of Skyline was Richard Bigelow. The school was originally planned to be built on the east side of Idaho Falls, on Sunnyside Road, where the majority of the students lived. However, due to immense protests by residents on the west side of town, the school was built on the west side. When Skyline was completed, it was thought of as the "country" school, because it was located away from the populated area. In the following decades the town grew to surround the high school. A major artery in Idaho Falls that ran from the Idaho Falls Airport to the edge of the high school. The street was named in the early 1950s by Margaret Cope Johns who with her husband Merritt Miller Johns developed the Johns Addition. The school's main rival is Idaho Falls High School.

Had a question about who is running this page.

This is Casper "Cap" Bendixsen - I have done the posts so far. I have added all the class officers as admins to the page as well (Roger Mishkin, Jordan Clayton, and Tyson Smith). When we get that Idaho Falls committee formed they will also have admin-access to this page or whatever other web-source we decide to use.

An idea for a midday event in addition to the main evening, e.g. a Tautphaus Park Picnic.

I like that idea! I actually thought to do a similar event at Heise and requesting family discounts for the pool, pizza, and golf. I've read mixed reviews of Friday night reunions and we'll have to consider people's travel/work needs and availability of the possible venues. In any case, I think we will do a midday alternative. I'm also considering to propose a golf tournament.

Had a question about the possible date(s) of the big bash.

Most reunions take place the weekend following the graduation. This year they finished on May 29th. I would think that our first choice will be either the first or second weekend of June 2013, but all that depends on what venue we settle on. Once that Idaho Falls committee gets formed, we can start sorting those things out. I'd like to think that we would have a date/venue by Thanksgiving.
